What about the fact that the sun is switching off - can't be bothered to link but the 11 year solar cycle seems to have stretched in to 15 years - something to do with no more boom and bust?
It's because the artificially low base rate has extended the solar cycle. We should have got all the pain out of the way with a more traditional depression, this period of low base rates is only extending the solar pain.0 -
At least it`ll shut the global warming brigade up!0

I thought we all knew that! The Duke of Edinburgh. Mohammed "Al" Harrods said that. AND he set fire to the Cutty Sark, as announced by Paul Merton who is an intelligent sort of chap and noticed that the Duke was one of the first on the scene - like all arsonists.Loanranger wrote: »Who killed JFK?
It was actually a remote controlled rifle and was indeed suicide. Part of a large Insurance Scam by JFK himself.Loanranger wrote: »Did the Americans film the moon landing in Texas?
Absolutely not. It was Arizona.Loanranger wrote: »Yet another conspiracy theory to add to the looooong list.
Our world is just an experiment, being watched by a huge society a trillion, trillion times larger than ourselves. We are sitting in a Petri Dish in their great laboratory, being observed. Now we have proved conclusively the madness of 'society', we are about to get flushed down the sink in a sea of acid. I've heard it will happen the day after tomorrow......0 -
i remember there was a fear of malaria due to mosquitos not being killed offhere's a link to the scaremongering over warm winters following the mild winter of 2007
Paul Pearce-Kelly, senior curator of invertebrates at the Zoological Society of London, explained: 'It's the combination of wet weather followed by warmer conditions that encourages the greater numbers.
'Changing weather patterns and milder winters are creating conditions more favourable to mosquito breeding.
'We are seeing a trend of an increasingly favourable climate here to mosquitoes.
'Normally the biting winters in Britain would kill everything off, but now we are seeing much milder conditions which means we are becoming more vulnerable to these pests.
It appears the scaremongering over Malaria is a piece of "spin" added by the OP, not contained in the original story 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Absolutely right.
As I said, the Met Office doesn't know what causes the Jet Stream to vary so doesn't know when varying will begin and when varying will stop. If it or, as you say, anyone else knew that, then accurate weather predictions ought to be more possible.
The way things currently are, there's as much chance of a return to "normal UK winter temperatures" in January as, er, not. Far better for the Met Office to confidently predict an Igloo Winter in much the same way as it confidently predicted a BBQ Summer. Then we'd all know a heatwave will be along soon.0 -
you lot crack me up, first it was due to global warming, conveniently renamed climate change when it got colder instead of hotter, now it goes under the name of "yellowstone induced gulf stream delapidation with added bp oil spill", the climate in this country has been changing since records began, stop wasting time procrastinating and learn to hunt and forage if you are that concerned/scared by it(posting on a forum wont be any help to your loved ones if your right), has the thames frozen up yet (think picture postcards from times past) have they started growing grapes for wine in scotland again like the romans did?0

They warned us, but WE DIDNT LISTEN!Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.0

THE GULF OF MEXICO BP OIL SPILL KILLED THE GULF LOOP WHICH IS THE DRIVING FORCE OF THE GULF STREAM. IN THE PAST IT HAS BROUGHT WARM WATER AND AIR OVER TO THE COAST OF IRELAND AND THE UK, WHICH IS THE MAIN REASON WE DONT ALREADY SUFFER
OK One foot in reality, how does an oil spill stop an ocean current?
Lets for once use a brain cell on this, the sun heating water causes the gulf stream (and all other ocean currents, if anyone could tell me how a black liquid in relatively a small area stopped the sun iradiating heat.
The other more obvious point is how does Gulf stream just come from the gulf of Mexico? It is a circular motion of current from east Florida, folows the US main land, over to europe, down to north africa then back to south america.
What did they do exactly to stop it? Would the bigger worry for all those in the gulf of mexico not be stagnant water and a sea of nitrates?
It is the Jet stream, (wind) not the gulf stream (ocean) causing this,
If the gulf stream had stopped there would be pack ice on us and to greenland already.
This is the worst conspiracy ever.0
