Yes - As soon as possible. OTOH, the retention period is 30 days for unquestioned footage.
As soon as poss. is definitely a good idea but a citation for the suggestion that the retention period for "unquestioned" footage being 30 days would be useful. The length of any retention period will ultimately be dictated by the purpose of the specific system. Some situations may only justify a retention period of a week whereas others may require that images be kept for 3 months.

The OP should "question" or otherwise register an interest in any footage concerning the vehicle and if it does turn out that it has been wiped "in error" or suffered a "technical problem," that in itself could form the basis of a complaint to the information commissioner.
Perhaps what you mean by "question" here is that the OP's daughter should make a subject access request within the terms of s.7 DPA. If so, I entirely agree.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
