The point is OP will feel happier when it is proved that it was a Mondeo, or something such which had had its plate misread, and not his daughters Smart, which has never been near Luton. What this illustrates is the woeful safeguards to prevent error by the PPC and DVLA regarding RK data. A vehicle reg no on it's own is insufficient. If they are ignoring vehicle type it is likely that there are many more victims of this incompetence who would just pay up. Again the pursuit of profit takes precedence over fairness. If They harrass further, then a stiff letter pointing out their culpability using "Ferguson" as the precedent may upset them enough to go away. If they continue to demand money, after it has been proved they have the wrong motor, then it becomes criminal, along the lines of demanding money with menaces, and the police should act imho.

I think EVERY SINGLE ONE of you is missing the point here. The Op knows to ignore the ppc (as advised by you people) but he is concenred as to the possibility of another vehicle using his daughters plates. He is simply requesting the photo to see if it is a misread or if indded the car has been cloned he has no intention of paying the PPC ticket but is more concerned for his duaghters car to prevent any furhter hasle...

MY advise would be to return to the police and give them the reference number and clarify your concerns to them explain you are not wantign to appeal the PPC ticket but ifact are worried about the car being cloned. They then have a duty to investigate.

No none of us have missed the point at all we have given the OP the best advise of ignoring. The OP is concerned the car may be cloned. However if the photo evidence comes back as a picture of a different car, that means the OP's identity was given to the PPC incorrectly, that my friend is a breach of the DPA and should be reported.

"The Police have a duty to investigate" Are you joking? The problem is the Police believe all this crap from the PPC's and give the standard reply its a "civil matter."

I would guess the police have witnessed so many of the guilty, protest their innocence, they view these instances as frivolous and mischievous.

Its a pity the Police don't see a lot of them for what they are a demand for money with menaces!

The OP might find his daughter has not been quite the saint he thinks she is?
Don't judge others by your own morals, the girl was doing a proper job working in a school, unlike the low life PPC who have decided to try and fleece her.

Make good use of what you have gained by your successful deception, as it is coming slowly to an end.
  • What's your disdain of those indomitable parking gentlemen have to do with a wayward daughter?

Perish the thought that a son/daughter might white lie to the parents to avoid a hassle. I don't know hat came over me.

The OP obviously takes a keen interest in his daughter's affairs, even though, I assume, she's grownup enough to look after herself.

Perky, why don't you go and crayon all over someone else's thread?

You must be losing money again this week when a lot more people are taking no notice whatsoever of your scams. Tough.

That's why you keep coming on here trying to defend your indefensible scams and basically talking a load of crap. You don't fool people on here you know. Your's and other scam empires are
slowly, unfortunately not faster, collapsing around your ears and you don't like it one bit. Tough.

    Run along now.

"I assume, she's grown up enough to look after herself".

So at what age does her mother stop worrying or caring then?

Maybe you should read this and then ask these parents what age they should stop!

What is the connection unless of course what you mean is when her parents waved her of they did not worry about her.

I have a 22 year old daughter who does something much more dangerous then Jessica Watson every day, and I worry until I see her car coming home!

Maybe you haven't got children but loving, worrying, and caring goes on until my last breath.

    Apologies for going of topic!!
  • Caring and anxiety is one thing, poaching emotions is another. The OP may well just be doing some homework, but at the end of the day the daughter needs to standup and go through the process and feel the pain herself, just like responsible adults have done since they bit into the apple..
