I'm another Mooncup fan. It is so easy and no worry about leaks. I sometimes forget to check it because I literally can forget as there's no tell-tale string to remind me.
I often forget about mine, I like the idea of the MeLuna ball as I have cut the stem on my moon cup really short and find it uncomfortable sometimes when I first put it in.
  • I have been using the Mooncup for about 4 years and it is wonderful not to have to worry about taking spare tampons out with you or wondering how many you will need if you are going on holiday. Another benefit I have noticed is that if you have slight stress incontinence (pee a bit when jumping or running) the Mooncup actually reduces this. Not sure how or why but I noticed this when jumping around playing netball !!
  • Hello girlies, not sure ive seen anyone ask but just wondering how you get it in, and then how do you get it out if its full of blood?
only plucked up the courage to make an account november 2010. looking to spend many more years(the rest of my life) on here moneysaving!

There is a big shortage of cerazette atm but it is not the fault of the NHS. The drug companies manufacture it and sell it to wholesalers who sell it abroad rather than to our pharmacies as they can get a better price with the exchange rate. It is totally immoral but not illegal and means that many of you cerazette users may have to have a few months of another progesterone only pill which is not at all ideal.

I've had this problem- wasn't very happy about having to change pills without warning and am looking forward to getting back on Cerazette.

You basically fold it in a particular way to make it small then it inserts pretty much like a tampon really but sits quite low down. It then pops open and presses against the walls to make a seal.

Mine tends to ride up higher so to get it out I just kind of bear down a bit, reach in pinch the end and slide it out. Then I tip it straight down the loo which I am sat over anyway. Its only full of blood on day 1 of my period, and then only if I leave it a bit longer than I should. Usually there's just a small amount in it.

Its so much easier if you can reach the sink from the loo as someone else pointed out but you find ways to adapt if you can't. I just empty down the loo and wipe as best I can with tissue. Its perfectly fine until you get home and can rinse it properly. You are definitely more up close and personal with your blood loss and I think that's part of what takes a couple of cycles to get used to. But honestly its second nature to me now.

I was skeptical but intrigued about these and I gave it a go. Trust me you will fall in love with the freedom you have from these things. I am a true mooncup sister!!

Just for the record instead cups can be reused _ I have experience with them in the world of surrogacy where they have a whole different use and I used mine over and over just washing it out between uses .

i know this is slightly ot but seeing as its been bought up....im one of the ones this has happened to...i've not been able to get any for 5 weeks, this was after i handed the prescription into the chemist, they then said out of stock, went back to the docs who said well because you've just had a prescription for that, i cant give you a prescription for anything else!!!, i cant go to any other chemist to try and get them because the chemist took my prescription from me
