    Hi Polly

Will everything be sorted out for you on the 13th?
I'm sure that you will already be writing down all the random questions/thoughts that are coming in to your head to ask the advisor such as utilities changes etc.

Ouch to the car tax though, theres always something and always seem to be things that we can't see alot of nice benefit to.

Have a good day, hope your gardens had a good watering xx
  • Just about to head off to take middle child to swimming lessons, will try and register youngest too as he can start after the summer:j

Paid the car taxes, that was bad luck itsadogslife but for us having those bills in Nov when it's middles and Mother's birthdays and Xmas on the horizon isn't a good time!

Choo, i don't know if i'll be full of questions on Friday or shell shocked. I have to confess to spending £10 on Friday between the lottery and Euromillions, needless to say i got zero return, i do know better but...

Did you know that the Coop bank a/c uses a Visa electron card as your debit card and M&S won't take it online but will take it in the stores? I've been trying to buy summer uniform for the children online and it kept accepting my order then rejecting it later. Anyway had to go into town yesterday to get the stuff and of course they didn't have what i wanted in stock but they did order it for me, and i paid with the card, and it'll be there for collection on Tuesday! And you can do that with anything, look online, get the item ref number and then phone in the order to your local store and not have to pay delivery, mad world....
Had no problem online with Boden, sadly;).
Had to get some work clothes for me, current capsule wardrobe has been limping along for two years and needs boosting.

    Better go!

  • Morning all,
Well meeting with IP went well, i think, so all the paperwork is done and now we wait to see if our BRs are approved and what payments we will have to make.
Still feels like an out of body experience and it probably will feel that way for the three years that we'll be making payments, but at least if everything is approved and agreed then i can count the days until our lives are our own again:)
We'll still be left with the secured loan and the mortgage and ultimately we want to pay back the in-laws.

Don't know if i'll keep posting or not as there may not be any point! But then again the forum is so useful and i've been able to come clean here that i may need to continue and i want to see the progress you all make and your DFD's:beer:

    Off to change sig again.

    PWD xx

    Take care xx
  • Morning,
Well both Dh and i are now BR, still terrified as we will be paying our surplus income to the OR for the next three years and we don't know how much yet, but what has been amazing is when the ccs have phoned up and asked for payment when i've said i've been made BR they turn really nice!!

What is also an eye opener is the attitudes / opinions i hear at work, people are so judgemental and sanctimonious when they know NOTHING about other peoples lives and circumstances. I don't think i ever was like that but i certainly will never be so!

Anyway, we wait to hear now about the surplus we need to pay and just hope we are given a livable budget, whatever it is it'll be better than what we we 'managing' on before.

DH is quite spaced out by it all, he said he was waiting for his train the other day and all he could do was look at people and wonder if they were BR or in debt or had piles of savings! And he felt like shouting to the world that he was BR, oh dear!!

    Hi Polly

I've been lurking on your thread for ages and sending you good vibes from afar. :)

I think you are being very strong and brave about it all and I hope it all works out well for you.

About your DH - I bet there are plenty of people out there who have similar thoughts. I know I do all the time, I look at people and wonder if they've been financially sensible all their lives or have they been completely idiotic and stupid with everything like I have. Your DH is not alone and he's bound to feel strange about it. When something major happens in your life, you go around wondering how everyone can just carry on as normal. It's a bit like a bereavement.

It sounds silly and indulgent but I often walk around thinking I'm the poorest person I know and the most useless with money. Even my teenage daughter is more solvent than me. :o

Once everything settles down hopefully you'll get into the swing of things - at the moment though it must be a mixture of relief and anxiety - hang on in there, you sound like you're doing a great job and I wish you luck and prosperity for the future.

Hi Polly, I have just read your thread all the way through, I think you have definitely done the right thing going BR and getting it all sorted for once and fir all. I was just wondering how it affects your accountancy qualification and job?
