    Hi PWD

I watched the wedding as well, she looked beautiful :)

It will be such a relief for you once this is all sorted and you have a firm plan in place. You are being very brave x

  • Hello!
Well all monthly cash out of bank and into jamjars!
Had £80 left in my diesel jar because of the week off for Easter hols and hopefully as part of the reduction since moving nursery, will see how it goes for May.

DH had £40 left in his petrol / rail jar, so we've introduced a new jar for May as it'll be good to know if this is petrol or reduced rail again due to school hols.

May is going to be horrible money wise, both cars have their road tax due, no letters yet, so don't know how much, maybe the same as 6 mths ago?
We still need rear tyres on both cars and the breakdown ins is due, about £66 for both of us.
Oh and DS has swimming lessons starting again this afternoon, about £35 i think.

Still haven't got the gutters or damp fixed, too scared to even get quots and of course we have to pay BR fees if we decide to do that.

DH's birthday in May as is smallest child and a cousin, who i'm really close to, have smallest done and dusted, although still need a bed for him.

That's about it here, another sunny gorgeous day, can smell next door's bbq!

Hi PWD just wanted to stop by and say how well I think you are doing staying strong, I have just read your diary from start to finish which is very thought provoking for me as I, like you initially, am desperately trying to do this by paying back rather than entering into a DMP or br. I sometimes struggle with anxieties and that stress and upset kicks off my IBS and I think I would be sat in the corner rocking when the creditors started calling. As it stands, we meet the minimums each month although I think I will be retired before it gets paid off if I carry on only being able to pay the minimums :o

Have a look round about the neutering as some places like the blue cross have reduced neutering. What type of dog is your pup?

We have had a tight month last month as we had two car taxes that had to be renewed for the end of April, the law of sod that they are both due same month

Also, if you have a spare corner of the garage or a shed, there are rescue centres that have semi feral cats that need homes, they just need somewhere dry and sheltered to sleep and a bit of food but they will keep your mouse problem under control without wanting your time or attention and shouldn't cost much to keep as you can get cat food for quite cheap.
    Just keep swimming!
  • Hi Itsadogslife, good name!!

Wouldn't mind a cat and feral / outside would be good but there is a really busy road in front of our house and i'd hate for anything to happen.
Mice have gone now the weather is good and we just need to get traps and poison under the floorboards next winter. TBH mice are okay, in that you can get rid of them, and if you have mice you don't have rats:eek:

I've just read your diary and it's good, i can't believe you survive on £150 a month for food, that's fantastic. Like the other posters i think once you've got to Xmas with your family loan you can snowball and you'll get there:T you really can count the days:D

Have sold a couple of skirts on ebay and a few more bits to finish over the next few days, so pleased about that.
There's a pub nearby that's advertising for a part time barman and i've mentioned it to DH, we'll see if he does anything about it;).
Oh and i'm on election duty on Thursday, so that's another few quid to the good, once i've worked out how to pay a cheque into a virtual bank!!

  • Ohhh thank goodness it's the weekend:beer: it's been a long week.
Road tax notices have arrived £165 for my car for a year and £190 for DH's, hoping we can pay for the whole year as if it's just six months that takes us to the end of Nov which is not a good time of year to have big bills!

Got another meeting on Friday the 13th to look forward to :(, that's the date we have to decide if we are signing our credit ratings away, actually don't think that scares me anymore but it is the unknown things that could get checked, if you want to change electricity supplier etc that i'm not sure if that happens or not. But i think just to have a realistic budget to live on should make the repayment plan sustainable for a few years and take that awful hand to mouth stress of living away, at least i hope it does.

Have a great day all, raining here but the garden needs it:D

  • Hi pwd, yikes to the road tax, hubbies car needs doing this month £110 but he has said this morning that he needs new tyres as well:eek:, not asking at the minute how much they will be.
  • One thing that I got caught out on once was that I taxed a car for 12 months and then about 2 months later a crazy lady hit the car and wrote it off, and the time taken by the insurers to make that decision and then getting the tax disc off and sending it off for a refund, I easily lost a month of tax so I now only tax for 6 months at a time.

Its a bit freaky that your next meeting is on Friday 13th, apt.

I definitely think you know when you have grown up when you have some rain and think that it is good because the garden needs it, I thought exactly the same! Although I do think my brocolli plants have been watching Day of the Triffids, I don't know what I was expecting but I think I underestimated how tall they would get :-)
    Just keep swimming!
