Thanks Beanie
Hi Sparkle, thanks for reading my little part of MSEI am unsure if I am honest, I last went to the theatre when I was really young without my family. Mum wanted to watch Hairspray in my home town but I don't think it will be in London then, and I love Avenue Q but again I don't think its in London. I will have a look and see whats on and maybe surprise Mum but I would prefer to go somewhere close to the hotel so I need to look at the venues too. Thanks for giving me the idea though :T
Edit, just found Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace! The tickets are quite cheap compared to my home town too. It maybe an option, many thanks Sparkle I would never have thought of it0 -
Pap - There are loads of things on in our 'local' theatre this year but I really object to the cost of seats. Have just looked at Hairspray for a Sunday matinee performance and for four of us - I know one of my kids would like to go, so would have to take both kids; we would have to sit right up in the gods and the seats there are uncomfortable.
I don't know the Victoria Palace theatre, but I did see Mamma Mia in London a few years ago (and then again when it was here!!!) and I think that the best seats would be in the middle part - we were on one side and it meant that you concentrated on that area iykwim!0 -
Many thanks dangers, yes our theatre is shocking. I have wanted to go to Avenue Q and Hairspray here and they are both over £150 for two tickets  I think because its the only one we have that attracts the larger productions they can charge the earth, sadly.
I must say I know nothing about best seats but I have just found theatremonkey which reviews all the London theatres for seats etc and it gives a guide of the best seats. I have now found Mamma Mia at the Prince of Wales theatre which is still quite close to our hotel so maybe thats an idea. I don't know which Mum would prefer so I think it will all depend on price really, although I wouuld prefer Billy :rotfl:0 -
Definitely get in a show! I saw The Lion King last summer for under £30 in London
Right at the top, back seats but perfect view.

Will try to Gem, at the moment the tickets for both are coming to min £40 max (that I would choose) £70 and thats for two people! In London (or do you mean at home?) I am trying to get somewhere in Victora but the plan was to use the easyhotel, however looking at the reviews vs the price (4 nights) I will be worthwhile going a bit further out and have a travellodge  But now I am thinking about a B&B because I have never stayed in one :rotfl:0 -

No probs at all! My favourite was Blood Brothers, that was a few years ago. A friend of mine went to see Billy Elliot and she said it was fantastic, the reviews etc don't do it justice so that might be a good option.0 -
Hi Pap, im going to London too in march for 4 nights, we have bought a merlin pass when it was half price more or less when you quoted capital radio, so we are doing the london eye, madame tussuads, the dungeons and london aquairium, ive also got quite a few tesco vouchers which can be used on london bus tours (with a free river cruse) and for entrance into tower of london, so we are doing london on the cheap!
There are also quite a few london attraction tickets on ebay so worth a look on there for cheap tickets! x
Hope you have a great time there! xxx0 -
Good tip from poppy! I meant at home
Travelodge breakfast I think is expensive and a bit rubbish so if a B&B is offering a decent breakfast so you can have less/no lunch - then it's worth itNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
