I've only ever had the extra points voucher for meal deals on my card once, 150 points and this was when I checked my card in Chester which is a huge store. My local Boots stores dont do meal deals, too small, so that may be why.

My own advantage card gets me vouchers for 100 points off a meal deal, but if I use my sons card I get 150 points per meal deal. Last week they also had crisps and drinks on special so buying two meal deals and the 'right' drink and crisps got me the whole lot for less than a pound in total.

However, I had been hitting the meal deal vouchers quite heavily and they stopped being issued on my sons card for a couple of days, but they are back now.

  • Hmpf! Didn't realise the 10% off voucher was in a poly-bagged Health and Beauty issue! All the ones I could see @ the Eastgate Centre were just loose, I flicked through what I could to see if they had booklets but no joy.

The stingy SA's will say oh you've already had one you can't have another one if I attempt to see if they have got poly-bagged ones next week!

Don't think I'm going to the cinema anytime soon so have NO IDEA of when I will next be @ the Retail Park, and I have a feeling my mailed-out 75pts on a Green Meal Deal coupon has already expired. SIGH

Getting a bit fed up of Boots tbh as I always seem to end up htting it when the lunchtime rush is on and then everyone is too busy - either to help me use those stupidly impossible to read Advantage Points, so I now no longer use those without a rlative and therefore miss out on the points, or help me look for things with my dodgy eyesight, or make sure i have taken the right things without having to bother the till people.

I tend to carry a magnifying glass around with me for reading the very very small print on coupons. Also useful at tills for convincing cashiers that they can accept your coupons :)

Right guys, I need your expert opinion.icon10.gif Would the following work:

-getting a No7 product worth, say, £7.50, which is also BOGOF, so getting 2 of them
-seeing that you're 'spending' £15 on No7, get 500 extra points, even though you're only really spending £7.50
-using the 10% voucher, so total is £6.75
-paying with the £5 skincare voucher...?

so you'd be handing over £1.75 and getting over 500 points? Pls pls pls tell me this would work? icon11.gif

Well well well, Boots are officially my favourite shop! :D Yes, this works (well almost anyway!)

Trouble is trying to find something that's BOGOF at £7.50ish. The only thing I found was an After Sun cream, BUT you can't use the skincare voucher against After Sun (annoyingly it doesn't say so on the actual voucher!), so that's no good.

So anyway, here's what I got:

    No7 Sunless Tanning Kit 2x@ £6 (BOGOF) 6.00
No7 Correction Wipe 2x£1.50 (had to get something to get to £15) 3.00
    Voucher redeem -5.00
10% voucher -0.90 (takes off 10% BEFORE the No7 voucher)
    TOTAL TO PAY £3.10

    Points received 12
    Offer points 500 :j :j :j

So, 512 points for a £3.10 spend!!! And lots of goodies :D
So yes, you will get 500 extra points with BOGOFs even if not actually spending the £15 on No7 (I love it when I'm right :D )

It just seems to be down to luck with points etc.
I had two £5 skincare vouchers, yesterday I decided to spend both of them in the following way to get the maximum out of them:

    1 No 7 Sauna face mask £7.50
    1 No 7 lipgloss tube £8

Thereby using the £5 voucher and getting the extra 500 points for a £15+ spend on No 7.

I also got 2 total spend vouchers out of the machine to see if they'd work.

On the first transaction, I got the 100 extra points for the total spend - but second time round, I didn't. I think it was because the SA didn't put my Advantage card back into the machine until after she'd scanned the £5 voucher - bringing my total spend on that transaction down to £10.50.
Can't complain - I got 2 more £5 vouchers out of it as well!

The SA (on the No 7 counter in Boots at the Oracle, Reading) was very helpful indeed - I also bought 2 reduced photo albums (down from £10 to £2.50) and when she scanned them, she said they were coming up as a 3-for-2, and sent another assistant upstairs to get me another one! Now, that's what I call service.

I'm trying to cut down on my Advantage Card obsession for a little while now, as it's taking over my life a bit. I spend so long mooching in Boots that I'm sure they think I'm a shoplifter.

I'm going to be a good girl this week and save money by spending some of my points on lunches - even though I could still get an extra 25 points a day out of the machine if I paid in cash! ;)

I popped into Boots today with the intention of using my two £5 skincare vouchers, and also to buy a couple of other things I needed. I went to pick up some Avene Thermal Water spray, which I use occasionally on my face to cool down in hot weather (I have sensitive skin that gets 'prickly' when hot). The label on the shelf said that I could use my £5 voucher on it. It's usually £5.20, so I picked two up and asked the lady on the till to put them through separately. I therefore got £10.40 worth of products for only 40p! :j

I dont think it would be so bad if I had an actual goal, something I was saving up for. Instead I have this huge points total on my advantage card and not a clue what I am going to do with it. My only idea is that it has to be something significant and/or something practical.

(I had the same problem with my WHSmiths card at one time, large points total that had taken me two years to collect, no idea what I wanted to do with it. Then they had one of their one week sales and I got for points plus about £5, the latest Norton Antivirus Security disc (?). Didnt realise what a significant improvement it was on the origianal, all the home computers have it installed now and the laptops and its in daily use. Thats the sort of significant thing I want from Boots :)

i've found recently i've been buying things with money instead of using my points, because if i use points i don't get the 10% off or the 50 points for spending over £7.50, or the 500 points when spending £25 on baby stuff (my mum used that the other day, she's got sensitive skin and uses johnsons baby softwash so she bought £25 worth of it on 2 for 1 and got loads of points lol!). i've got over £30 in points and probably won't spend them until these fab discounts and points offers run out - maybe not even until xmas.
