I checked the machine this afternoon and i never seem to have extra points for a £7.50 spend, usually 100 points for a £10 spend..

Yep, I've been getting 75 points for £10 spend on my new card, but always larger amounts - £20 or £30 total spend - on the old card (in hubby's name). I think they're trying to entice new customers this way, and that's why old customers who've bought loads of stuff (people like you Advantage_Card! :) ) aren't getting ones for smaller amounts.

    That's my theory anyway :)

Boots have just reported an 11% fall in profits....ooops!

  • The reason I don't attempt to use more than one coupon per item or even transaction is that my local branch, Inverness Eastgate Centre, are quite rigid about sticking to the one coupon per transaction rule and im paranoid theyll knock me back which would be embarrassing as im very well known there.

Id probably be more likely to chance it with multiple coupons @ the Retail Park where Im not so well known but unless i can get a relative to take me im not keen to spend nearly eight pounds in taxis there and back to avoid falling off a pavement @ the Retail Park, as the bus doesn;t pull in near enough to the shops so it's quite dangerous to get across from the bus to Boots, sigh.

BTW Are people still getting Meal Deal points coupons out of the machine? BOO HISS if you are, they don't have that on the Eastage Centre machine as Eastgate Centre Boots hasn't sold them since last August! You'd think i'd stop whinging aobut it now but i used to have at least two, often three, a week so really miss the points collecting involved. No use going in a taxi to the Retail Park just for one!

THANKS for explaining about the so many points for £7.50+, its a shame that i can't have that one as I have now cut down my Boots spending due to the lack of Meal Deals and food and drink @ the branch I can walk to, plus we now have a LUSH outlet so have got my shampoo and conditioner from there this week.

  • Oh dear, have Boots really had a 11% fall in profits? Must be too much competition and people going elsewhere or just chucking in smellies with their cauliflower etc. @ the supermarket.

Mind you with the Eastgate Centre branch, it is the lack of most food and drink and of course MEAL DEALS that means they aren't getting as much sales out of me. Mind you LUSH opening almost 2 weeks ago hasn't helped either, I know it's more of a luxurious treat compared to your bog-standard stuff from the likes of Boots but im rather fond of their haicare as it doesn't have any yukky sillicones in it which don't get on with my naturally curly hair.

I've ordered on line from Boots and used a £5 code & got free delivery with another code too. I did have to spend over £40 though.
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
