In some ways I hope this thread was started by a 'troll' than a genuine person looking for a port in a storm who might have been scared off for good.
But I hope that he's got the strength to come back and listen to those of us who give a sh*t than those who don't.
Whats small minded about advising someone to take responsibility for their actions and stand on their own two feet for once instead of running away leaving others out of pocket?
As i said before, if the OP is not prepared to accept responsibility for their actions then why should the 'big boys' for theirs when they next pop by to collect.0 -
shakerbaby wrote:How old are you? Basically its time you took responsibilities for your actions instead of running away from them. You have spent and no doubt enjoyed a life of leasure on other peoples money and now, guess what, its payback time.

What does it matter how old he is - I've read posts from people in their early twenties and others who have retired - the same mistakes can be made whatever your age.
What does it matter if he's gambled some of it away alot of people on DFW admit that they thrown money away on some sort of materialistic !!!!!! or other - I see no difference.
Also his comment about keeping proceeds of his house sale to set him up somewhere else - he sounded like he was c@cking himself maybe you might feel the same if you were in the same situation - what's the old phrase about walking a mile in someone's shoes...You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs

Why cant he sell and, shock horror, do the decent thing and play the money he owes spent and enjoyed back from the proceeds. Why should he run off, imagine if it was your 70k he defaulted on.
You try walking a mile in the 'heavies' size 10 boots...0 -

I'm not drunk - my computer seemed to be locked up so I pressed the post button a couple of times to see if it would do anything. When it finally did my message had been posted 3 times. I couldn't delete the second 2 posts so I editted them so that the info wasn't repeated.
But your last post doesn't make sense so you're the one that sounds drunk and your opinions seem to back this up!
I think you are a wind-up merchant without a genuine reason to be on this site - you just seem to want to get your kicks wagging your finger at others so I'll leave you to it...:silenced:You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs

Its a wind up, if you borrowed money from the 'heavies' the last thing you do is ask for help in this type of forum, we all no what happens if you dont pay.
Just as an example were i used to live it was rough, the alsations used to walk around in pairs, someone owed money to someone, a large amount, they left the county. Think they went to Scotland.
Its a Wind up0 -
If this thread is a wind-up so is shakerbabyYou should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs

I read this post earlier and my instinct was non genuine, I could be wrong.
I felt this was a bit jovial considering the theme is the safety of a wife and baby!
"THE GUYS WHO COME AROUND FOR THE MONEY USUALY HAVE FEW TEETH, SO YES IN A WAY THEY ARE TOOTHLESS SHARKS"
That aside, if it's not and you want some help from all the kind considerate caring people on this board who will be genuinely concerned and worried about this situation perhaps a few more specifics would be helpful in your next post.
How much, who to? APR's etc. Loan Shark is a bit of a slang term, it doesn't really give people much to go on initially. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.0 -
That the OP has not come back with more details, requests for information etc, does suggest to me that the post was not genuine, and I hope it wasn't. If I were in that situation and I found a forum with the kind of advice and support on it such as this one I would be reading it for all I was worth and also checking for replies frequently. Desperate people often act desperately and so far this looks like maybe its a wind up. However, I'm with those who've posted that in this forum a request should be treated as genuine. There have been some quite unpleasant postings on this thread not in keeping with this forum and they dont help. In fact, I wonder if they are all part of the big wind up? Isn't that how internet trolls get their kicks? If the poster is genuine then take the advice of the helpful people here for the sake of your family and ignore those that dont help.0

I love the suggestion of going to the police for protection...
Someone has been watching too many films, in real life your call will be "logged", the heavies will be questioned and no evidence will be found.
24hrs later your house will be missing a front door and your knee-caps will be handed back to you on a plate.
The police will not sit outside all night for weeks on end, eating take-aways and drinking coffee waiting for the "heavies" to make their move.
My suggestion (if you are genuine) is sell up , pay them back and start afresh.0 -
I've learnt my lesson with this thread and I'm not going to get dragged in again.
Alot of people thought the original poster was a wind-up but I think that shakerbaby is a wind-up merchant too and to be avoided if possible...You should never call somebody else a nerd or geek because everybody (even YOU !!!) is an"anorak" about something whether it's trains, computers, football, shoes or celebs
