He said that all the other parties for that night had already cancelled and that his staff were unable to get to the restaurant.
Also it was not only a meal but entertainment and a disco til 2am.....if we were to go in January were getting none of the usual glitz and music that comes with Christmas. Even though were all sick of Slade etc, u cant have a Christmas party without all that!!!!
Even if they did try and replicate the Xmas atmosphere, its not gonna b the same as it will be in January! Technically it wont be a Christmas Party which is what we paid for and were expecting.0 -

You're entitled to a full refund and I'd fight all the way till I got one.
Cheeky sod.
(Not you, the manager)Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
The bottom line is you booked a meal for a specific date and they cancelled it. Tell them that you would like your deposit back or you will take them to the small claims court.
Ignore people on here who think it's reasonable to go in January, there are a lot of people on here who have no ability to stand up for their rights and will settle for anything.
I doubt there was any terms and conditions with the deposit anyway.0 -
Zandoni's right, write them a letter stating you want your money back as they cancelled the meal, stating you'll take it to the small claims court if a full refund is not received within 14 days.
I really don't understand the bizarre mentalty of people who ignore the original question and tell you they'd be happy to go in January. It's almost like they can't quite understand anyone having a different life or set of circumstances to their own.0 -
For once I agree entirely with Zandoni

And that doesn't happen often!!!!!!!0 -
I can feel the lurve:kisses3::kisses2::kisses:I

So all the other partys are cancelled or have chosen to cancel and with his crystal ball,he can see that no staff can get in.
Presumably his staff will not get paid either?
I sniff a scam...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
