Sounds good as I have to start cutting right back as DH is not working so what do I need to do as I have never done this before??

Basically you just find ways to use up all the items in your store cupboard, fridge, and freezer. You can post recipes that you make up on the spot and / or ask here for help in finding a way to use something you bought but have no real idea of what to do with it. Something many of us do :)

We have a long running thread on this and I'll quote from our "Welcome" sticky at the top of the board...
You could start with the store cupboard challenge to use up everything in your food cupboards, fridge and freezer to give you a kick start in using up all those things hiding in dark corners.

    HTH :)

  • I will have a go at using up what I have in the cupboards - so I am in but I will need to buy fresh meat, veg, eggs, milk, fruit and cooked meats.

I don't have much in the freezer but will try and use the frozen veg, quorn and the odd and I mean odd ready meal that are lurking there.

  • Hi, I'm in! Like Peem, I could do with clearing my pantry to make some space to fill up for Christmas. DH is off travelling for a couple of weeks on Wednesday, so it will be an opportunity to use up the single portions from the freezer.

I can't even begin to think about inventorising (?) my pantry as I am bound to get into "renting of garments" mode as I know I will have to omany of everything. Oh, alright then, I'll make my list tonight - but only the tinned stuff - i haven't got the strength to do the baking and carb cupboard......:o

can i ask a question as a newbie. how is clearing everything out moneysaving? surely if you use everything and buy nothing you have to start all over again next month so costs you more than if you just top up each week what you have used

just need to get my head round this

The money saving aspect comes from regualarly using things up before they get past their use-by date and so have to be binned.

It's amazing how many things you can find hiding in dark corners :)
