In my calendar - a robin.
I can better that - In my sainsbury's yesterday - A Robin.
We have just had a big refurb and extension to our Sainsbury's and the other night I went I could hear a bird, but couldn't see it.
Yesterday there he was above the signs for fruit and veg, singing his heart out while shoppers stopped to watch him or photograph him on their mobile phones. It certainly gave people a good smile, whatever their age.0 -

but for some reason my DW's door won't shut  It feels like there is something in the way but I've checked and there isn't. I can't be without itif it's not working by tomorrow I'll ring the letting agent to send someone round.

Could it be that the top drawer/shelf thing isn't going all the way back because something has dropped down the back? I found that the pipe that fitted on the back of the shelf didn't fit snuggly together because a fork had fallen and got wedged in the way. I couldn't see it from where I was looking and it only takes a few mm to stop the door shutting.
It's only a game

Thanks for the suggestion but there is definately nothing stuck anywhere. I've taken both drawers out to check. The screws have come out of the casing that holds it in the cupboard so think it's moved ever so slightly and this is why door won't shut. Hopefully they can send someone tomorrow or tues.

Well I've had a productive day so far. Kitchen and lounge are sparkling. I've made 2 different soups from veg that was on the turn - spicy carrot & lentil, and brocolli & stilton. I had carrot&lentil for lunch and there are 2 leftover portions, and 3 portions of the brocolli one. So that's lunches for the week, and some spare for the freezer. I did have to clean the hob again though as the soup spat everywhere  :rotfl:.
I've also prepped potatoes for roasting later and prepped stuffed peppers. I'll have these for tea with some veg.
I'm going to take the rubbish out and attempt to scrape some of the ice/snow off my car. I don't need my car really this week apart from to go food shopping but don't wanna have to hack 6inch chunks off it later in week! I still need to sort out laundry and the 2 bedrooms, shouldn't take more than an hour max. But will do that after the rubbish and car, and a cuppa!
Then I can relax and start wrapping xmas presents tonight. Phew!
Molly - glad you're doing ok

Snow not melted, BBC 5 day weather forecast says more due Thursday :T OK that's not good news for those of you who have to travel over Christmas but lucky for me as mum and dad are only round the corner.
Have a good evening, I fancy going to a carol concert to get into the spirit of things.........no chance tonight as local main road hasn't been ploughed properly and is a total nightmare to drive on!

No more snow but loads lying everywhere and very cold brrr.
DH pay was in the bank today :j:j wasn't due in till tomorrow and our cupboards were looking very bare!!
Managed to drive to local supermarket on very dodgy roads and stock up a bit. Also bought some more gas and electric, we were down to 96p of emergancy gas
FIL made it home safely from Wales although it took a lot longer than usual, so am relieved about that.
Lamb joint is slow cooking in gravy in oven for dinner later.
