oldestrocker - To be frank, I find your attitude and comments insulting, patronising and damn right arrogant. My parents worked all their lives holding down two jobs each and paying into the system. For people like you to turn around and accuse them of living a 'life on benefits' is a disgrace.

I never said they were living a life on benefits. What I was saying that apart from trying to claim sickness benefit now, the first time I have claimed anything in over 44 years of full time working, I have had to provide for everything. I didn't go cap in hand to no one when times were hard - that is what life deals you.
We lived our life simply no holidays, no cars, just to save for the emergencies of life!
Maybe others should have followed the same path!

You have the nerve to say that whilst you and your familys hand's have been stuck in the honey pot for over a decade now. Then you post on another forum about how unfair it is that you don't qualify for any cold weather payments.

You really are something else Andy.

Here we go again. I am NOT ANDY!!!!!!!!!

And no, the only benefit that I have ever claimed in my life is ESA from Nov 2009 to date!!!! And that is in over 44 years of full time work.

Please explain how you come to think that me and my family have had benefits for the past 10 years or so?
  • I am getting seriously confused on this particular board who the hell is Andy??! Lol he keeps popping up in the threads I look at?

Hi, glad you asked the question. It seems that for today at least I may be ANDY.

Apparently the story goes that this guy died then re-appeared again he was some sort of druggie.

Everybody it trying to find where he has got to since he came back from the dead.
There is one poster on here thinks he may know him as he is in touch with the other side!

That's about as much as I know

Who this poster is, and his connection, if any, to a previous member of the forum, has no relevance whatsoever to this thread or any other thread in this section of the forum. ALL forum members should try to remember that and refrain from off-topic posting that is unhelpful to the thread-starter.

I will be reporting all OT posts about this that I see from now on.

This forum is supposed to HELP people get the benefits they're entitled to. If posters don't have something to say in that regard (and I include DIY advice in a benefits thread as well as personal abuse), then they simply should refrain from posting.

    Sorry to be OT.

Who gave you the right to decide which posts are ok and which are not?

Anyway, OP, I'm confused. Why did you take out the old kitchen 5 years ago without any plan to replace it?
How did you terminate the water supply without any plumbing skills?

If you could take the old one out, you should be ok at fitting the new one. Most involve the use of a crewdriver and a hammer.

You can do the plumbing, it isn't that hard. I did a full bathroom install and a full kitchen with no previoous experience (doing the soil pipe fitting was a bit grubby, but hey ho, I survived).

I just don't see why you would have sat there for 5 years with them having no water supply?

    !!!!!!

OP, give Houseproud a call or check out their website.
  • OP, we'd all like to have new kitchens and other home improvements done.

But we can hardly expect the tax payer to fund it can we?

Me thinks you're being a little bit cheeky asking as well :p
