  • My neighbour talked me into going to Mr T's today - and never again. Its bad enough most Saturdays watched the c*rp going through the tills but today was just stupid. Cash rules in my house - if you don't have the money then we aint having it. One small single trolley in front of me was £178. No veg, no bread, no milk, no fresh or frozen meat.

(I don't normally watch everyone's shopping but its sooo busy I was there for an hour).
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x
  • its just mad isn't it....and most of it will end up in the rubbish I'll bet!!!

to be fair, I have never gone mad like that even in the bad old days, I just can't see the point. Years ago when I worked at sainsburys I was always in shock at this time of year.

  • Hi all :)

Got to say that I am sooooooo glad to have sorted my xmas out by the beginning of December this year, the first real christmas after my B/R. Last year was okish, but this year is the best ever as far as I am concerned - ALL BOUGHT AND PAID FOR - CASH :j:j
I was ashamed of being B/R, but honestly it has been one of my best life changing descisions and what a learning curve it has been!!! Tough at times, but I survived:T

I dont worry anymore about money, no stress, no hassle its bloody great and both my kids are 22 & 27 and this is going to be the best xmas for me. They are both coming round with their other halves for xmas dinner and I cant wait. Family IS more important than pressies and I am sooooo grateful for my two kids and I treasure time with them. I stupidly hid my finances/B/R from them and only told them AFTER the event and they now appreciate EVERYTHING I have done for them over the years. I love them to bits and if they had to have toast for xmas dinner it wouldn't bother them, so long as I am there!
    That is priceless.:A
Take care and I hope we all have a peaceful, debt free chrimbo:xmassign:

Well I have just come back form ASDA and oh my god for the first time ever have I realized just how dangerous Credit Cards are People are crazy, 2 trolleys strapped high three trolleys deep at the till, one woman spent £485.78

Credit cards are only dangerous if abused, if you buy on the card and don't have enough to pay the bill each month that is where it then becomes dangerous.

As for the woman shopping and spending almost £500, yes while that sounds excessive do you know how many she was feeding, how much was luxury food and how much was drink and if it will be on the never never or paid in full when the statement comes through.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • well gingerbread is baked, now cooling for building the house later. I'm going to have a nice soak in the bath, as I have just been told by my youngest son that I have flour in my hair......
