Like to see someone fit a cossie lump inIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -
Yes, older Kas used the 1.3-litre OHV pushrod engine that dates back to the Anglia, and only had minor changes in the 40 or so years! I never understood why they didn't use the 1.25-litre Zetec 16-valve in the Ka....Cost, maybe?
My Ka is a 1.6-litre SportKa, which is a chain driven OHC engine, same with the StreetKa..Still only 8-valves though! Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here, but I seem to recall all 2004(ish) to 2008 (just before the new one was released) Kas had the same OHC DuraTec lump as the SportKa and StreetKa, just 1.3-litres instead, and as such the OHV lump isn't used anymore...
Do you work for Ford? You know alot about your cars.0 -

No, I work for a Train Operating Company. I was in the motor trade for a few years a while ago (Mechanic). I have always had an interest in cars....quite a big interest admittedly, lol. I've been driving for 10-years and have had 27 cars in that time...I get bored.Do you work for Ford? You know alot about your cars.
Yes, or it always used to be...But then the Zetec used to be the name of Ford's 16-Valve engine throughout the 90s, but Ford seem to be using that as a trim level these days, so who knows!Rossy wrote:Isnt "Ghia" the trim level?0 -

Yes, since you stopped working for them they can't build a decent engine now and have to get them from Volvo.
Please for the good of us all Stigy, go back to Ford.
I loved the Essex engine. Not that I'm saying the Kent was a bad one.0 -
