My father has a George Foreman grill from which he collects the fat (there's a little tray at the bottom that does this) and pours it into an empty jam jar, adds a wick and uses it as a candle. All his candles are made like this.

I can only imagine the smell of these candles fill the house with a greasy cooking smell? Or can you actually scent these in some way that works?

I buy blank cards and envelopes (£8 for 100 from Works) and cut up nice birthday/christmas/any occasion cards.

I stick the recycled card onto the blank one and then I customise them with various crafty bits (recycled ribbons, rivets etc.) and not only do they make cheaper cards, but have a personal touch too. I ask all my friends for their cards and any I don't use go to school for the kids to use.

Another one here voting for the "I found nothing on here embarassing" camp (appart from the soup from KFC bones - I find that not as much embarassing as disgusting-sorry).

I also recycle presents (seriously, there is only certain amount of smellies you can use in a year)
I also recycle bubble envelopes (recycling saves the planet)
I also recycle gift bags (surely that is completely normal?)
I like weak tea so my OH uses one bag for 2 cups in the mornings.
I don't use gift tags at all. I just write names straight on the present wrapping.

Otherwise I batch cook, make a stock from leftover chicken (that I cooked myself before), I take left overs for my lunch to work and I also buy ready made meals on offer/reduced and then freeze them for days when I am at home alone/for lunch at work.

Having one wee in the garden replaces 7 litres of watering!?! That's one impressively-sized bladder you have there...

It 'saves' 7 litres, ie saves the Flush :p

They do smell a bit. He uses them outside on a summer evening mostly. He claims they also keep the midges at bay too.

my friend gave me some presents to regift this year so that has saved me a tiny fortune :-)

instead of muting my cat new toys to play with, she's getting her old ones wrapped up- the cut off bits that always end up being chucked out. She will be more interested in the wrapping paper anyway!!
