Yup done the bow and paper thing too!
And I have printed my own on the printer. Generally just usd monochrome (posh for black and white) as using colour is not really money saving!!!
And the children will use old wallpaper and / or draw on it to make it personal to the person.** Freebies and money saved with the help of you all? - Don't know ....lost count! **** Stay Safe **0 -
My neighbour gave my daughter a cricket book she had bought a while ago for my daughter to give to my fiance this christmas - luckily I checked it first - it's about the Ashes - in 2005 - how embarrassing would that have been if my daughter had given it to him!!!0

I made my Student brother a necklace from Sprouts and a parsnip....he thought it was hilarious. He gave me a grannys knitting bag he swapped in a swap shop in Manchester !!! love him....much better to have something funny than a boring old gift set.0

Any junk mail that comes A4 size and is blank on the back gets used in my printer, mainly for drafts and for copies of e.g. bank statements. If the printed side is something 'neutral' I may use it to print out unimportant business letters.
For this reason I've not opted out of receiving junk mail.0 -
I always buy my next year's Christmas cards, wrapping paper and crackers in the post-Christmas sales. I always get them half price or less.'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' George Carlin0

Its not embarrasing but adding to the whole reusing gift bags etc.
When my grandma died and we were emptying her house, i opened one of her old wardrobes and it was full top to bottom of gift bags. I burst into laughter as soon as i saw it, and my dad let me have them all. I don't think i will ever run out!0 -
As a student, when I had small gifts to wrap, I used to go to the local DIY store and get a sample of wallpaper to use as wrapping paper.
I don't think anyone really noticed, only when they said 'this paper is such good quality... so thick'. Makes me laugh when I remember.0 -
(when i was a lad,) we used to reuse all the envelopes by just sticking a piece of gummed paper over the address and fold it over to seal the envelope. easy :j0

Rather than putting them in separate bags, why not lay them out on a plastic chopping board, stick it in the freezer, when they have frozen you can take them off the board and stick them all in one bag as once frozen they wont stick together.
We do this with lemon slices for my G&T - chop a lemon up, lay all the bits flat on a chopping board, freeze them then bag up once frozen. No need to defrost when using!
this also works with the plastic lids of tupperware - we have tons of these cause they came free with something a couple of years ago!0 -
I'm surprised more couples don't share the bath. Not only is it cheaper than running two baths it can also be fun
and that will save a fortune on divorce fees.
