    i keep the gift bows from the presents.i stick them back on with tape the following year.i have also in the past kept the tags and reused them.no one will notice,they never read the tags anyway.if it is a card type tag,cut of the bit used to write on and then write on the other side.people may think this is stingey but i think throwing these out is wasteful.

    A friend of mine re-gifted presents and even ones received that year... Got a boxed bottle of booze, unwrapped it, re-wrapped it, gave it to his Father in Law, and there was a 'funny but exceptionally rude' note tucked inside the box that he didn't know was there :eek:

    :D

    Not only did he have the shame of the note, but also that he had re-gifted booze to his FIL, in front of the WHOLE family too.
    Doubley shameful :rotfl::rotfl:

    I regularly re-gift pressies, but you have to remember who gave it to you so you don't accidentally give it back to the same person!

    I have also previously bought a gift set of nice smellies when it was on special in the January sales, removed the perfume for myself and used the other smellies in a home made gift basket the following Christmas. Well, why not? The whole gift set on sale was cheaper than the perfume on its own!

    Also, when making home made jams & chutneys (which get given away as gifts) we just use the top half of a 2l milk bottle as a funnel - it is free and works just as well as a real jam funnel and can be washed in a dishwasher. Plus, when it gets a bit tatty, you can just chuck it out and cut a new one!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

    My colleagues all think that I am completely batty because I have bubble wrapped my bathroom windows.
    Man plans and God laughs...
    Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    My christmas list this year included red lentils, everyone raves about them on here for making meals go further I wasn't sure where to get them from and don't want to spend my money if I don't like them

    Well this year I received a Christmas card from a friend who had clearly re-used them. She simply crossed out the names of the recipient and sender and wrote in new ones, then added a personal message for me at the bottom :eek:

    I know several people who re-use teabags ...

    I always re-use gift bags, if the tag has already been written on I just replace it with a new colour co-ordinated one.
