I buy cheap Pizzas and add my own toppings before putting in the oven. Left over Salsa adds an extra bite and you can chop up other left over meats to complement the dish. Fried & chopped up left over bacon cooked in olive oil and garlic is always good. A few drops of Tabasco also spices things up. You can also buy flat (doughy) "garlic bread" bases as an alternative to Pizza bases.

I also buy Tesco so-called "cooking bacon" (or sometimes generic 99p bacon bits) instead of regular bacon since it is vastly cheaper and is little different to the prettier packaged product and makes no difference in bacon butties and Pizza toppings.

I admit to most of my MSE ways, the one I did keep quiet about was when some of hubby's friends arrived unexpectedly for a weekend stay, bringing with them a KFC Bargain Bucket, I collected all the bones & scraps before they could bin them saying I would compost them. I actually made them into chicken soup for lunch the following day, I just added some veg & lentils & served with a loaf of HM bread.

OMG...I wouldve kept quiet about that one too..could never re-use other peoples food scraps...especialy not the type that had been chewed on.:D.sorry.
I do however recycle gifts, keep all my gift bags(my friends have cottoned on to this too and no longer sign tags on gift bags as we all expect to get them back again at some point or other...tho think one of my best friends took it too far when she put My Birthday present into a "Best Mum In The World, mothers day" gift bag:rotfl:
I dont think theres anything i do OS,that i keep secret, apart from the one time i added oats to our mince...but it was so horrible that il never do that again anyway;)

My parents use buckets of water collected as the shower heats up, and through a giant water barrel in the garden that collects rain water. It's been full to bursting with the snow lately! And throw them down the toilet instead of flushing as often. My mum adds soap and bleach to the water to make sure the toilet is clean!
    Rise, like lions after slumber
    In unvanquishable number!
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you:
    Ye are many—they are few

you need to go one step further - pizza base is easy to make, a tin of cheap tomatoes and cheese, then add the meats etc! tasty

Have a wee in the garden, especially the compost bin. It saves 7 litres of water and is jolly good for the garden.

I also use cooking oil to shave. If you read the ingredients on Tesco oil for shaving you will see it is exactly that with some other smelly useless non-functional additions.

I must save at least £1 per year but it does feel good.

I save 50% on dishwasher tablets by simply breaking them in half and using just one half for each wash!
I also use the cheapest tablets ("Clean 'n fresh" by McBride, 15 in a box) because they break easily and do an excellent job.
I save a massive amount on "PG tips" teabags by waiting for special offers on the 240-bag size. They often come in cheaper than the 80-bag size. The last one I bought was about £2.60.

When buying Kleenex tissues, the two box offers are often more expensive than buying two single boxes!

To find out other ways I make even more significant savings each month though, you will have to request them by sending me a message (because I cannot attach them on this site).

Hi, I would love to see the rest of your tips please, but I am unsure how to contact you. Plase advise, Thankks

There's no need to buy sandwich bags as the supermarkets give them away for free in the fruit & veg aisles :D

You don't shop at Morrisons by any chance do you. They are always running out of bags :) Blimmin' good idea though

This is excruciating! I was at an evening party (without hubby) last week, to which we all brought food contributions. Lots of people didn't want to take their leftovers away, so I did what I'd done many times before, and put a selection on a paper plate for my husband to enjoy for tea. As I was opening my car. the plate fell on to the car park and scattered sausage rolls etc about. Well, I had to pick my rubbish up anyway, so did I serve them to husband??? Let's just say, what the eye does not see & so on, and he is still healthy! Sorry, folks!
