  • I totally agree with the above, I think this was a test scam myself.

    What an absolute horror
  • The money has been refunded back to my account :j

    Hi
I have refunded your money in full as I understand you have no faith in me as a seller. I would like the opportunity to make amends and prove I am a genuine seller, with this in mind I shall be posting the item out this afternoon with next day delivery, so you should get it tomorrow. I hope this meets with your approval, if you wish to pay towards the item after it arrives I would be very grateful, if not please keep it with my compliments for any distress caused.

Am starting to feel a bit guilty now incase their story was true, we shall see tomorrow, although we have heavy snow forecast for tonight and the next few days!

I am truely appalled at the way people have jumped to conclusions.

Stop winding up the OP, calm down and apply some common sense, or is that too boring?

-Has the seller sold any other lego recently?

-Do you know what postage service they used?

I think alot of people are winding this poor buyer up...there is no evidence of any scam.

If the seller has sent via royal mail-quite likley given the amount they have charged for P+P- then there's a good chance that the parcel is stuck somewhere. Given that we have had bad weather, it's xmas, and RM have been implementing changes to sorting and delivering of mail (which seem to have slowed things down rather than speeded them up) there's a good chance it is still on route. Apparently the RM operate a 'last in, first out' system, so if your parcel gets stuck in an unsorted pile of mail, it will stay there until they catch up.

If the seller has sold other lego sets -as apposed to random pieces- it's quite possible that you have recieved a piece meant for someone else's set. Perhaps they got a complaint of a missing piece from someone else, and a 'where's my item' email from you, and they just got you mixed up. It's easy to do! -The other buyer probably has an email saying 'I sent your item ages ago!'

Things do sometimes go wrong - parcels get delivered to incorrect addresses, labels come off, emails get mixed up ...

If the seller has sold 30ish items, with no bad feedback I think it's highly unlikely they suddenly decided to start some elaborate lego scam...

I think these people telling you to make a big fuss are just wind up merchants, you should ignore them, keep a cool head and pragmatic attitude, and it will all sort itself out.

If worst comes to the worst and it doesn't turn up, just get a refund and move on.

If I were you I would send them a POLITE email asking them to give you a tracking number, and point out that you recieved a single piece of lego, not the 624 you bought.

The worst thing this seller can be accused of at this point is being disorganised. I would save the accusations until you have proof of wrong doing.

I'm so glad that it all worked out for you. I agree with most people on here, there is something super strange going on here but well done on the possitive outcome.

Hmm. If they send it with tracking and they can show that you have accepted it, and show they have refunded you, doesn't that mean they can also chase you again for payment?

I'd respond now and tell them not to bother sending it and mention that if they do, you will refuse delivery anyway.

  • Do not accept this so called free gift.
Call an end to it and move on, you have your money back.
Personally I would give a negative comment if what I have read happened to me.
Again I would not accept anything from this seller.
  • What a wierdo, he sounds as dodgy as hell.

I am glad your refund has been received.

Hopefully it can be reported to ebay.

He is a fraudster as he said he photographed the item he sent you (later on he was not even there it was his brother)

He tried to intimidate you into not doing anything. You were good and stood up for yourself, SOme people may get scammed by this !!!!!!

People like this make my blood boil

    take care

They are probably attempting to grovel to you to stop you leaving a neg. I would ignore that and leave whatever feedback you think appropriate. Even if they did it in "good faith" or let someone mess around with their account they should still pay the price for this stupid behaviour.

Do you think it feasible - that the seller may have read this thread? I believe it is possible. From all that has been said the seller is probably a scammer. It must be tempting to take his gift, but I don't think one should. If you did take the gift - this story could twist and turn even more!

He reminds me of a snake.
  • It's an open forum, so it's possible. If it is the case they have read these messages which has contributed to the realisation of justice for the OP, then a job well done in my eyes.
