Ebay help, I've been conned!

I would pay too, but that is the kind of person i am. I have to agree with Auntie-Dolly as the seller could have been telling the truth.0

If what they are saying is true (unlikely...) then they need to learn a hard lesson, they were at least reckless with other people's money and property, they don't deserve any sympathy.Auntie-Dolly wrote: »What stress? The only stress was being whipped up by the paranoid posters on this thread! Put yourself in the sellers position & just imagine for a minute what he is saying is true. If you want to keep the lego, pay the man. :xmassmile0 -
I think asking the seller for the new invoice of the original price minus £10 sort of meets the issue in the middle. You don't have to feel guilty as you 'bought' the item - but they shouldn't get full whack for it after what they put you through.
And Auntie-Dolly I would say that trying to get hold of a son's christmas present and then being potentialy ripped off until you prove that the seller is wrong (who 'miraculously then changes his story!) - would be pretty stressful - as the OP said, not much chance of getting the gift again this close to the big day. He should be more careful with his family accessing his eBay account in future!Proud meowmy of four fuzzy cats

Yes, fortunately OP did not listen to your advice of "wait n see", can you quote this? Never been said!
ensuring OP pushed ahead before the deadline. As a direct result of NOT following your advice, the OP (not the seller) has not been scammed. My advice was to communicate, Op had already opened a dispute. You have no idea if they were been scammed, or the real reasons behind what went on.
Buyer can open snad to get refund.
There are only so many times I can say keep an open mind!
This is not at all helpful to the buyer.
Your right, it's the the great 2010 lego scam. Seller should be shot at dawn!:rotfl:
Seems a little strange that a nb comments on the ebay board for the first time defending someone for trying to rip off a buyer.
Me a cynic, of course not.
Everything about this seller screamed I'm a low down dirty scammer. You seem to be the only person not to think so.0 -
You should edit it to make sure it's obvious it's LTN who said all that, not Marley.

While it is not known what went on as can be seen on here when the facts are posted people draw conclusions. I suspect the seller would prefer a post here saying that the matter is at an end rather than getting payment.0

Thanks for all the help and advice everyone.
I paid for the Lego minus the £10, so am happy, DS will be happy, and seller is happy he got payment albeit not for the original amount.
Has put me off buying from low feedback sellers though, which is a shame as we all have to start somewhere.
Merry Christmas everyone xxx0 -
Glad you're happy OP but just out of nosiness - did you leave feedback?Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.0
