  • My wife sent out on Friday morning to get 6 of them.
No problem, even though I'm suffering with that life threatening Man Flu, I went.
There was a huge queue of 3 waiting for the store to open.
Got the 6 of them, had to make 2 journeys though, I was too weak to carry all 6 at once.:rotfl:
Haven't been back in to see if they sold any more of them.

detedporshe, if I had any gold stars I would award you one for service over and above the call of duty. Have a smiley face instead :T
  • Sent my younger brother Friday morning as I was at work and didn't want to risk not getting it before Christmas what with everyone cancelling delivery in Scotland. Even he got caught up in the fever and bought one for his wife, lol.

It's men like you, dentedporsche, who put the Great into Great Britain! May the 6 recipients be thrilled with their gifts, may your Man Flu go quickly, and may Santa bring you something other than socks or hankies! :)

Chineham store in Basingstoke still had lots of these left at 7pm today - a good 30 or so I'd say, some on the main display stand, and some in another area of the store.

    I got 2 bags :D

    HTH someone

  • :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sorry to laugh, but it was so nostalgic reading this! It was always left to me to get everyone's presents, write all the cards, decorate the tree, go to work, do the dinner etc, and on Christmas Eve, DH would make a Big Thing of "I'll be a bit late home from work cos I'll be doing my shopping". Next door to where he worked was a shoe shop, and every year I got a pair of slippers. :(

His family would open a carefully chosen gift, and then complain it wasn't the right colour. My side would grumble about anything possible. Then after dinner, the kids would fight, everyone else would fall asleep, and I'd be left with all the washing up (pre dishwasher days!).

But I'd give anything to have both our sets of relations with us, moaning about the brussels, or the plates being too hot/not hot enough. If you don't get any nice things, just do what I used to do. Have a good cry on your own, bathe yourself in the aroma of burning martyr :( and know that, without a doubt, you are one of that fabulous group, who sprinkle Fairy Dust on everyone else, and without which there wouldn't be Christmas.

You, my darling, are A Woman!!!!!! :A:A:A

Wishing all Mummies, Grandmas, Aunties, Sisters, Daughters, Wives and Girlfriends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    xx

You truely are lovely... that definately put a smile on my face. My father passed away before he could meet my partner or my children and i would give anything to share one minute with him never mind one more christmas... Bless you all who have family near or far, with you or have passed... It's the season to be jolly but realistically it's just the biggest most stressfull day ever! This year we've decided to cook whatever each one of us wants to eat as last year, went to his parents, to my mums and then back here to cook christmas dinner and ate at 8pm with 3yr old twins going mental as way too tired and didn't even like the food!!

Hopefully, this year it'll be easier and happier.

On the other hand... I called boots. They said my order still shows as "we have received you order" because they have to authenticate the order due to fraudsters ect... i went a bit mental and they said that either way the box will have been reserved at the side for me and i should get it once it all goes through, just that this is how it works and she can't see any problems... However... I asked what will happen if i can't get it and why not notify me earlier when i could have still gotten it in store and she responded with "call us if things don't go right and we'll take it from there..." oh happy days!
  • I've been trying to log into my boots account for the last hour or so but can't access my orders - has anyone else tried recently? TIA
