No, it really is easy to get caught out even while attempting to obey the letter of the law.
.
Well I have never been " caught out " in more years than I care to remember.
Certainly if I had have been " caught out " once, that would have been the first and last time.
9 points, to me means one thing only, a total disregard to traffic laws.0 -

Such a well structured and thought out argument that has completely refuted every point I made down to the finest detail. Clearly I am 100% wrong here and must bow out in the face of your superior intellect and debating technique.0

After you were stopped and the tyre was pointed out, did they officers allow you to continue driving the vehicle? If they did then you have some kind of defence, however as others have pointed out, less than 3mm of tread is a bit w4nk to be driving on! The insurance premiums maybe enough to waken you to grow up and shut up
Grow up and shut up? Just asking for advice pal, no need for that.
And yes they did let me drive away. I said if it was illegal i would immediately have it changed of course. Do you think this is relevant then?0 -

Read what DUTR said and your reply.
If it was legal why were you given a ticket?0 -

I'm no lawyer, however if the tyre was illegal, then they should not have let you proceed to drive the car in an unsafe.illegal condition, I know my officer friend used to make offenders remove the chav film from the windows or have the car impounded.
Thegrow up shut up comment is in reference to the amount of accumalated points, especially if you are dependant upon th4 licence for your livelihood .0 -

I check in to look for advice and to be honest there has been some useful stuff since I looked yesterday. Sadly I have had to trawl through your crap to find them, and sure enough, as soon as i type something on here today, who is the first to reply?! You really are a very angry person. Chill out sweetheart! Have a drink (not coffee), go see some friends, get some fresh air, perhaps a walk in a park.0
