This happened the first couple of times in my BM and my mum's
It will stop when the hinge on the paddle starts to loosen up... the problem then is the paddle will start to stick to the spindle!... but you can prevent this by making sure you rub a little oil over the paddle and the spindle before you start.0 -

Add ingrediants as per instrustions (i use the one for sandwich bread) and start it on setting for "dough" (it takes about an hour and a half) then once that has finished, put it on the sandwich setting.

Far better than just using the sandwich setting on it's own!!

I tried this last night, and it worked out great! :j Much lighter loaf, and a really nice crust as well, quite different, bit a speciality bread.
Definitely recommend you trying it!

Oooooh, my DH is going to kill me.
Just stuck a bid on a 48280 on ebay and it is still mine - with 36 seconds left ..... £28 inc postage :rolleyes: .
Oh well, I'll definitely have to get some stuff onto ebay now, to offset the cost.

Just found this thread and have dug the Fastbake out of the spare room where it's been sitting unused for about 3 years!
I haven't a flippin' clue where I have put the manual and I can't seem to download the one from the Morphy Richards site.
I have a couple of Hovis bread mixes in the cupboard which I got from Asda last week (2 for £1) so I will give one a go tomorrow.
The only thing I can't remember is, with a bread mix, do you put the mix or the water into the breadmaker first?0 -
Usually water goes in first. The general idea is to keep the yeast away from the water, this is vital if using delay/timer.
With a breadmix, the yeast is already mixed in, so you can't realistically keep it away from liquid, so I wouldn't use the timer/delay option.0 -

I think I know where my manual is now but wanted to get the mix in the cooker first thing.
Has anyone added chopped peppers to their breadmix?
I have a few scraps of red and yellow peppers that I was just going to throw into a stir fry but wondered what they would be like in some bread.0 -
i got one of these at the weekend, birthday present from my parents, have made a few loves using store bought bread mix which sank, book says that down to too much yeast but as it was pre-made mix dont know what i could have dne about that, have just made a cake in it modified version of the maderia cake but had no lemon juice in so imprvised with a bit of milk and orange excract, its cooling but looks and smells good stopped it with about 5 mins left to go as it was starting to smell very done think if i'd left it any longer it would have started to burntwins on board0
