I have a fast bake too....fingers crossed!
The only thing I can think is that if you fully immerse the pan in water the mechanism underneath can sieze up. It rusts or something. Not sure what to suggest if this has happened but at least it would answer your question.
Hope it is easy to sort out whatever it is.

Have you tried using a bake only cycle and seeing if it still heats up, so you can work out whether it's a problem with the motor or the entire machine?
If it's still not working I'd be tempted to give the machine a sharp tap onto your work surface to see whether it's a loose connection.0 -
I did clean out the pan afterwards, but never immerse it fully in water, just tend to clean the inside of the pan. Anyway I cleaned it and tried it empty on another cycle, the display and buttons were working perfect but it did not start, maybe it needs to have the weight in it to work. I will probably try again tomorrow with a loaf mix, but I dont want to waste the ingredients. The pizza dough did rise in the lounge near the fire so hopefully tonights tea will be a success without the BM. Thanks for the advice will try banging it if all else fails. Still have around 5 months guarantee so could be taking it back if not.:mad:Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Loan 1 €[STRIKE]4885[/STRIKE] now 0. Can anyone help please? Ive had my BM for around 18 months now and never had any probs. Just put my pizza dough together and pressed the programme which beeped but did not turn AGH:( seems that the motor does not want to turn. I tried switching off and on again but although the display works nothing else wants to! Anyhow Ive had to take it all out of the pan and work by hand, the dough is now in a bowl with t towel on top in front of the fire!!! Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks:eek:
It's worth phoning Morphy Richards and telling them (very very nicely) what the problem is. I had a M.R. steamer that I had for about 5yrs, it was working fine but the baskets were starting to look a bit tatty. They didn't have any replacements and so offered me a new one half price. I did say that I was really pleased with the steamer and it was still working but they seemed to want to bend over backwards to assist! Who was I to say no :rotfl: . Hope it works out for you.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

I second that, phone them. They have excellent customer service in my experience. My vaccume is MR and they replaced a couple of attachments that got banged up in the box with no quibles. A few months ago the motor gave out on the unit (which was likely my falut for not cleaning the filter properly) and they sent a new one the next day!0

Thanks yes did try and it would seem the machine does still heat up but thats it! So I guess it is a prob with the motor. I have been on to the help line this morning who were brill. They gave me a number which I need to take back into Argos who will replace it there and then! Good service. Will let you know what happens. Just finished baking my second 2lb loaf using Hovis white bread mix. Both loaves have been successful. on the white bread setting for 3 hours. The texture and taste of the bread is lovely. It makes yummy toast as well.
I'm very happy with my Morphy Richards fastbake and so is hubby.Felines are my favourite

Just bought my first breadmaker, the Morphy Richards Fastbake 48280 - can't wait to get started! Got it secondhand so hopefully all will be well - it doesn't look like it's had heavy use so far. Need a measuring cup but will order that from MR. Wish me luck! :jLife is not a dress rehearsal.0

My bf has just ordered me a MR Fastbake 48280 today using 10,500 of his Nectar Card points. Waiting for it to be delivered now (site said approx 10 days) and I'm so excited! Have downloaded the instruction book from MR website so I have time to find the cheapest places to buy the ingredients before it arrives.
My bf loves naan bread. Does anyone know if you can make naan in the BM, and if so, how?0
