How would you feel about receiving a gift like this?

Since I love baking, I've decided to do fudge, brownies, millionaires shortbread, peppermint creams and cookies as gifts. I was going to put each in a cellophane bag with ribbon and a little tag with a gingerbread man with use by date on it. Then put them all in a white cake box with tissue paper and tie the box with more ribbon. I'm a little apprehensive about people's reactions etc, so how would you feel about receiving a gift like this?
I think it sounds lovely

I'd love a present like this. I'm giving hampers with home made pickles, jams, chutneys and wine this year. Last year I did Christmas eve hampers for the MIL and one for the FIL and his wife. Everyone really appreciated them and I was asked if I was making hampers again this year.
I've been hinting like crazy that next year I'd prefer people to make me a hamper with anything in it. IMO it shows that a lot more time, care and thought went into making it. I've already planned next years hampers
PS if anyone doesn't want one of your sweet hampers, I'll willingly take one off your hands

I'd love a present like that!I would be happy with that
Personally though, I would always give something I had bought as well as the homemade stuff. It seems a little bit cheap otherwise, in my opinion. I know a lot of you will disagree though, which is fine.
To me, this is everything that's wrong with Christmas - the idea that you *have* to buy something
For me personally, I hate it when someone buys a gift set or some other overpackaged, overpriced nonsense - to me that seems cheap - they just grabbed the first thing off the shelf and didn't put any thought into it whatsoever!
I know what you mean though - I'd love to give handmade presents like the OP to everyone, but I know that sadly lots of people would not appreciate it and think it "cheap".

I've made something similar for my sons Teachers but also made a bag of snowman soups (one for each teacher) and they loved it and for my teachers (I volunteer in school) I made pots of gold and handmade chocs - I gave them out today and they were all very appreciative. I was even asked to make more

I love homemade gifts, especially when they are presented so nicely but the bit I love the most is making them so if I made something and it wasnt appreciated I could always fall back on the fact I had fun making it
