  • Paid £50 off today - for the last couple of months money has been so tight so instead of sending a load to my CC and struggling for the rest of the month I'm only going to pay fifty quid straight away this month to more than cover my minimum payment and then I'll just send extra payments if I can afford to - and I really do need to try to, I've still got £1450 to pay off by the end of the year, which is 127 days, so that works out to £11.50 a day!!! Really need to get cracking or I'm not going to get rid of this in 2011!!

Well done everyone making payments. it's a tough month, keep on going.
  • Hi All

£32.80 paid. This is from mystery shopping and also the expenses paid to me for stuff I needed to buy. I am pretty tight on cash till payday on Weds but I was determined to use the expenses money to put on the card too! I'm not completly desperate for it so I paid it.
Have about £3k more to find for my credit card on top of regular loan payments if I am going to reach my target at the end of the year. So far calculated I have 4 x £68 min payments to make, plus £130 for a V ticket I sold, plus atleast £30 in cashback atm, which means I still need to find approx £2.5k in 4 months. I have been really positive about doing it and don't want to say it, but I don't know how I am going to find that £2.5k?! I have Ebaying to start and will keep doing mystery shopping. Bit disappointed I haven't paid off more already to be honest but something is better than nothing. Also swiftly transferred a balance to 0% today. Mr T's now want to start charging me interest at £27 for next month which is horrific! So have transferred the balance though I am assuming they will sting me for some amount of interest still in my next statement! Anyway, balance now

    £2725.24/£6500.00 41% paid

    Keep going everyone.

Nothing extra to report yet until hubbies overtime money goes in which may not be until next month, but when it does I'm hoping to knock another couple of hundred off my total :j

Well done everyone for staying on the wagon for so long! I really feel like time is racing now and it'll be christmas and the end of the year in no time... 127 days rubywhatashmoo said  That doesn't seem very long some how!

I've got £3461.71 to go which means £27.26 a day.... that sounds like an awful lot!

Whats everyone doing about xmas? I've brought most of my little girls pressies already but the plan was to not budget to overpay anything in November and have all that pay for gifts etc. I hope that in fact we don't spend that much and we can still over pay a little, but if we can't I wont feel bad :)
    Parents - £4000/£0 paid
    OH parents - £9000/£0 paid

Had an amazing month with money back from tax man and work (they took too much pension contribution off me)

So here I am now with....

    108. kdenty - £6247/£8,034

I only owe £2941 to the financial institutions now (mortgage not included).

I'm down to 1 credit card (M&S at 4.9% life of balance) and a bank loan with 3 payments left on it.

I'm already at least £150 a month better off by not having to pay the minimum balance on the 3 cards I had. Also finally got the hang of budgeting and already putting some savings away towards things like car insurance and road tax etc.

My plan now is all the bank debt will be paid by Christmas so we will then have about £580 more per month. I will then put away some money each month to save up to pay back Mum & Dad.

I still want to be fugal. I so don't want to tear backwards and end up back to owing £26,000 (a result of silly spending and thinking that credit cards truely were 'priceless')

  • Hi all another update for my target this month the figure now stands at 2044.89. Another big acheivement this month i have smashed throught the 2000 barrier.:T:T:T and got one of my cc balances below 200, i am now determined to get rid of this cc before the end of the year.

Morning everyone - Number 37 update

    £20,236/£31,000

Well august - where do I start? absolute minimum payments on everything, thanks to a month of guests/family staying every weekend (3 lots in total) and one for a week (1 lot still here as I type!) - We live in Devon and everyone wants to stay-vacation with us to save money! But whilst the debt repayments then deceased for this month, our quality of life and enjoyment increased significantly - so not to worry.

Having sat down and reviewed everything, we are unlikely to reach the 31k target – it is more likely to be around 28 k (7k CC / 7.5K car loan /13.5k mortgage) – but if we do manage at least this figure by the end of the year the CC’s will be finally be history (started at 28k) and the car loan will be halved (started at 15K).

Keep up the good work everyone - your posts are all inspiring

i have got lots of pigs and put my left over coins in them each week. not opened since november last year so hoping that by end of november this year there will be nearlhy enough to pay for most of my pressies. last year i had £90 from may-nov which was a big help so with the extra 6 months this year i am hoping it will pay for most! (although i did open the £1 and silvers ones to see how much was in them in may and only had about £50 so prob wont be enough! :( ) will need to reduce debt payments in nov slightly i think to cover it!

    Hi all,

For Christmas i buy gifts throughout the year when there are sales / special offers on for the things i know people will like, i then pop them to one side - this year i just have 1 gift left to buy - its an electrical item so i'm leaving it until a bit later on. Me and OH don't buy each other anything at Xmas so that helps and i only have 6 people to purchase for. I buy gifts for my family / friends and my fella buys stuff for his family - or at least he pays for it. I've only started doing this the last couple of years and its my way of spreading the cost out.

Not sure if this helps for how people manage for xmas this year - so sorry if not. I do also keep to a strict budget for each person.
