Welcome Fallen! I'll add you to the first page now.
Good luck with the debtbusting - you've made a great start!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi All
Just heading off to the bank to pay another £80 towards my CC.

The totals are looking healthier for this month now, so well done everyone! I should be able to add something tomorrow too as finally payday arrives! :j
I've been playing with the figures today, and if I take out everyone who has not updated since January, we have paid off a total of:
£424,906.32/£909,718.88
That's nearly 47% of the targets of those who have been updating.
Shows we are actually doing fantastically well, so well done everyone! :T:T:T:T:T:T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Oooh! Citing! Well done jwil. Excited to hear our August total.0

This month is looking crap for us too but not because we don't have the money to overpay the loan-it's because tesco's messing up with us! They blame us for making overpayment and can't give us balance and settlement figures so now everything goes by writing-I can't overpay until I know how much we have left! So hopefully september will look better!0

Thanks for that jwil!
We're doing great, well done everyone!Parents - £4000/£0 paid
OH parents - £9000/£0 paid
Mortgage - £125,000/£0 overpayments0 -
Hi jwil and all
Thank you for the lovely welcome
Ok I'm going to sit down before the weekend and work out a budget so that I can see what's left and go from thereI have been thinking of all sorts of things to cut down costs including using candles instead of electric in the winter and if I have a candle party I can also get my candles for free from the hostess commission
I thought of using radiators to dry clothes on if they are on instead of tumble drier
In time I would like to grow my own veg which also helps the eco system because you can only grow what is in season instead of having it imported
It's the beginning for me in a few ways - I'm starting a new job on Thursday - one I have tried to get for the last 6 years so I am REALLY excitedIt's my last day of smoking tomorrow so new excercise regime will also start including walking home from work while it's still light (3 and a half miles) When it's gets dark I will start doing fitness programmes from the tv instead
I am going to start re-cooking food from scratch - when I did this in the past our shopping bill was cut in half and it was a lot healthier
Oh I am soooo looking forward to all the changes
I intend to focus more on cleaning also
Sorry for the long reply and sharing my life story, lol!
I will be back when I have worked out a budget

final day of august, roll up roll up, confess your sins!
A really quiet month for us as DH has no extra gigs and of course we've spent on summer treats. That, plus my private clinic costs have meant we're into our overdrafts with a vengeance and it's not looking pretty. Next month, however, looks much better - DH has about £1500 of gigs, so will be back into overpayment territory, with any luck.0
