Just under 24 hours to get those tax returns filed peeps!

Just finished mine. Note to self - don't leave it so late next year!

Had to pay £51 - the first time I've had to pay tax in a long while.

    D.
  • They haven't sent me the details to do it online. Going to ring tomorrow and tell them I'm not saying the fine as I first registered at the start of Jan. Anybody had any experience? Are they likey to agree to not fine me?

January 2011? then i don't think you need to worry until next year. They'll send you a form in april. ( i hope that's the case) :D

If the return is later than today, then you will be fined. However, it's not as bad as it seems. Once the return is submitted, the fine reduces to the amount of the tax that you owe - in other words, no fine.

However, as others have mentioned, if the return doesn't apply for the year covered by this return (which it won't if you registered in January) then don't worry about it - you'll get a return for next year.
    Competition wins:
    2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!

Have you done the first location you applied for before? Might be because you did it not too long ago so they want someone else to go in case the staff recognise you.

    Thanks for all your help.
I've never had an assignment for this client before, I had just decided to take the test (and pased) after debating over whether to or not.
  • It's been a while since Gap banished me but I seem to remember that there was a rule (for the burgers at least) that you couldn't visit within 48 hours of another shopper. So for example if I did the breakfast on the 1st it would be lunch on the 3rd before you could visit. If the jobs still start on the 1st I would hazzard a guess that this is the case.

Thats probably what it was. As I was trying to apply for a few of these
    thanks :-)

I registered in Jan to submit my details online. Said they would sent me a UTR which they didn't and i found it on some paperwork. Thought that was it until i entered those details and it said it was sending me another referance number which i need to fill out.

I started jan 2010 self employed.

Thanks for that. Doesn't seem fair i be fined because of their post not getting to me!

I don't think i owe more than £30 if that (hopefully)

The taxman works on the idea that you are responsible for chasing them...
