Just back from Leeds White Rose store, got there about 9.30am and found the cardigans at the back of the ground floor surrounded by women and staff lol. No queue system as others have reported, but then there seemed to be plenty to go round. There were a few different styles, not just the ones shown on the TV ad, and plenty of them in all colours and sizes from 8 to 22-ish. It was all very civilised, mostly, although there were a few people giving the staff grief about there being no signs about it being one per customer. They were being very strict about that and monitoring who was walking round with more than one very closely. There was only one till you could pay for them at too, so no chance of getting two. I also noticed they stamped the label of the cardigan at the till, so I'm presuming it's non returnable, or at least only to the value of £10 if you try and exchange it later without a receipt?
I got a gorgeous dark grey one with lots of fabric and little ties inside to keep it closed. I just tried it on and I'm thrilled with it, it's a bargain at £10 and the fit is lovely. It will go great either with my jeans or smart work trousers.
I couldn't choose between the dark grey and the purple, so hubby said he'd call at lunchtime and get me the purple one if it's still available in my size. :D

I also heard one staff member saying they didn't get staff discount on them - just in case anyone was hoping a family member or friend could get them even cheaper. Sorry!

  • Our M&S didn't have a queue system - tt was perfectly OK to take 6 to the changing room to play about with sizes / styles / colours.Got a red ribbed one & have just sent my friend M&S-wards with instructions re-a black ribbed one! I do like Xmas!
  • I got mine this morning, at 9.15 my first choice of size/colour was already gone. At the till I was told that they cannot be returned, seems different stores are telling customers different things

I felt too ill to brave this one, so my mum went into town early (for her!) to get a cardi for herself and managed to get me one too! Again, all cornered off and had to be handed the cardi by staff etc. She went downstairs, wandered around then went back and got me one!! Thanks mum! Sizes were already diminishing fast and that was by 10.30

No chance of getting two unless you take a friend ;)

The red ones went off the rails at lightening speed, only had the ribbed ones at my store and nothing was said about no returns.
  • Anyone been to the Glasgow Argyle Street store? Couldn't make it this morning but could pop along at lunch time if there was any chance of getting one at that time!

Our store had three different styles, ribbed, tie at front, tie at back. I got a gorgeous navy one for my mum to go with Xmas present. Shame can only get one as they are lovely and a bargain for ten pound! Ours was a queuing system and all cornered off and had to be handed one, had loads of colours and and sizes. This was Eltham SE London. Thanks OP.
