  • thanks op, i just got back from town where my store opened at 9am, I got a red ribbed one. I was 5th in the queue, got there at ten to 9 more people arrived after me but some how managed to jump ahead of me in the queue. it was roped off and you had to tell the staff what one you wanted then they got it for you. There was a security gaurd there for safety because when they had the jumper offer on a women got cut because of everyone pushing & shoving. This was Harlow store.

Now to get my soap & glory from boots tomorrow lol

My Dad isn't very good when it comes to Sales, etc. Mum saw the advert on TV last night and remarked at how good a deal it was so this morning he decided to go for it.

He arrived outside our local store at 8.45 and saw 3 people in a queue. Thought he'd go and buy a newspaper instead of waiting in the cold & sleet, returning 10 minutes later he was surprised to find the queue had grown rather large (doh!).

Luckily he re-joined and got in, was totally confused by what he was supposed to do and hated most of the colours available (I had told him was size to get) but has managed to return with a nice beige/fawn coloured cardigan to add to Mum's Christmas present box.

He's going to be in the good books for this one! LOL!
  • Got to our local for 9am I plumped for the stairs over the escalator which must've shaved off quite a bit of time as I was only about 9th in the queue!Mum on the other hand took the escalator and ended up about 20 behind me.

Had a section roped off in the 'gift area' with staff offering sizes/colours out. I have to say I am very impressed with M & S management, there was a great selection of styles/colours/sizes and I really like the fairness of the system.

Well done M & S and thanks op I wouldn't have known about it otherwise :T

A shame the offers not online, as wanted the bitter chocolate one. :(
  • In Newcastle store this morning, my mum got me one and was told it was she was only able to exchange or refund it TODAY.
The assistant told her NO refunds on them tomorrow and if you exchange you have to put the £25 to another.

Hope mine fits as we wont get back with it today.

  • I went to the Forestside store in Belfast at ten past nine this morning. The cardigans were upstairs with the Christmas gifts which confused me as I couldn't understand why there weren't any crowds in womenswear! :o The queue was very long and you had to queue before you could even see what the cardigans were like! I managed to get one as a Christmas stocking filler for my mum. One of the guys told me they have 1,300 and that they only had a third of that many mens' jumpers when they were on offer....but I can't see them lasting long!!

  • I was 5th in queue at my local - got there at 8.45, we had to queue down an ailse and they let you go through a few at a time to choose, i was first to the checkout with my purple one:) Just tried it on and it is lovely, wish i could go get another but can't justify it to hubby!! In my local there were 2 styles, one had a tie at back and one didn't.

The info I got was they could only be exchanged/refunded/returned if they still had the labels attached. They actually stamped the back of the labels of both cardi's with a small M&S Card Loyalty stamp.

    I think you were mis-informed - doesn't sound very M&S'ish at all.

My receipts both state, "Last day for a refund or exchange 20/01/11"

    Hope that helps.

I was told you HAD to use a gift receipt to return it...everyone around me were being told the same.

Looks like the M&S staff training hasn't gone too well. lol

I would be very surprised if there were any problems with refunds with M&S - getting an exchange might be more of a problem...............as they may not have any/many left.
