I love these threads. Gives me ideas and inspiration.

I did a load of matched betting to make money when I was pregnant (a few years back now) but decided to do it again, after reading all the matched betting threads to jog my memory, by setting up accounts in my husband's name (yes I have his permission).

Today I (well we) are £429 up! I couldn't believe it. I was mainly backing and laying greyhounds, with the occasional football match thrown in. I have plenty of free bets to claim having trawled this site and the forum at rpoints. On rpoints they have great spreadsheets. I have saved one which you enter what you are betting to win and the odds and the odds you can bet to lose at betfair and it will work out how much you need to put down at betfair to cover your money.

If you haven't had a go and need a betfair account I can refer you. Just pm me.

I am feeling inspired and can't wait to get on with it all again tomorrow. I am going to go and hunt for a large piggy on ebay to turn into one of those mortgage piggy's someone was talking about.

On the subject of money for nothing I saw someone on ebay selling conkers! So I might have a hunt with my kids for some of those. They are free after all.

    Good luck to everyone.

    Hi All

Hope I can join you on this challenge. We are currently building an extension which will house our new kitchen, so I want to make as much as possible for free to pay for it.

My current thoughts are quidco, ebay, vouchers, and matched betting.

I am not normally a great joiner in on these types of things, but was inspired by the make money from nothing thread so please bear with me if I only pop on occasionally.

I am off now to add up my proceeds for the week.

    Hels

    Hi

Just been having a think about how to go about getting my first lot of money and was thinking about ebay.. I already have quite a few items listed, however, im not going to be able to list very much as i don't really have much time between my full time job and second job as its coming up to xmas there should be extra hours going.

I had a long think about it and don't think im going to have much time to do anything apart from work so am going to have to give up on this before i've even started.

    Sorry.

I wish you all good luck x

  • Thank you Miss Penny Pincher.I've got a day off tomorrow, so I'm going to list things on ebay and will have a look at the match betting thread. Have also joined the Piggy points thing. x
  • so can I just check - the week started last Thursday and ends next wednesday ?

Havent done much this weekend as it is my DD's birthday on halloween so have been sorting out the house for the party on Tuesday.

I am on the referrers list for A & L and have had an enquiry today so that may be another fiver towards this challenge. I am including the ebay sale on this weeks total but excluding the news of the world bingo bonus winnings so that makes my total so far for week 1 £32.67. I have managed to list the grand total of 1 book on green metropolis this weekend  I plan to put a mobile onto ebay tomorrow but that will go into next weeks total on a 5 day listing. I have also got a cahoot savings account to open via Quidco for another £30 - will phone them and try to get this sorted this week.
I think I will add the Quidco earnings when they are actually paid out otherwise they may get duplicated in my totals. Im probably not going to be able to start the matched betting till later on in the week, if not next week with my DD's birthday and I am away one night with work too.
Am debating about doing a car boot sale - the last one was a disaster, I dont think we even made a fiver after costs :rotfl: we do have a lot of kids games that could be sold so its a good time of year for that so I think I may look into it = maybe try a different one this time.
How is everybody else doing ? thanks for the spreadsheet PP - will have a look at it later
    All the best OOPS

  • Hi

Can I join in too? I have loads of things I could sell etc but sometimes I need a kick up the rear and this would be perfect!!

I think i'll allocate myself half an hour or an hour each evening to this challenge - to list items, think of new ways to make money etc..

    Thanks and good luck peeps!!:j

  • Hi all,
Good to see people so enthused & sorry to loose you buddie - compleatly understand & lets face it you have quite alot on - dont want you having meltdown! A bad couple of days for me all in all...in short I'm going to have to buy a new laptop as mine has just about given up the ghost & it costs as much to get it repaired as buy a new one (will def get warranty this time!) & have spent all pm at the dental hospital in tears as my abcess has gone into overload so I either have to have a tooth out & then a bridge or a rerootcanal & new crown - all told a min of £800 for the two...grand total so far made is £11 although due £40+ in Dec cashback from CC & if I get it right with laptop ourchase can hopefully increase profits that way...wonder if you can get dentist on quidco!! All I need to do now is find an NHS dentist in Cardiff...
