  • Hi Guys

Thanks to you all for your comments.

Does anyone by any chance have the email address of Margaret Young - CEO of Welcome/Cattles for future reference? Can't seem to find it listed anywhere.

    Many thanks.
  • Hi I am new to this... I am also trying to reclaim my ppi back from Welcome Finance, I had a loan with me then in 2008 and I kept adding onto their loan, so eventually I owed them around 7,000 - I then got into such a mess, I ended up signing up to the CCCS -

Anyway I sent the the ppi template on here and I have had a response, saying that they are looking into my complaint, I have filled out the FOS questionnaire, but received a reply a week ago saying that they were sorry but they had loads of work on, but they will get back to me.

Shall I wait or shall I call them or write to them again. I dont even know how much I would receive (if I am sucessful).

Your comments are welcome - :)

  • Hi there

They've got 8 weeks to issue a final response, if they haven't responded within that time, then I would chase them and consider going to the FOS. There is no harm in contacting them for an update in the meantime to see if they are any further forward.

They may well send you a letter asking for more time if they cannot complete their investigations with the 8 week timeframe as they did with me.

My complaint was instigated on 3rd September 2010 and still haven't paid out yet!

    Hope this helps.

PS: I may have more news regarding my payout by Friday...will keep you posted!

    Hi and welcome.

Good luck on your reclaim, also just to confirm if your under a payment arrangement where arrears are due, then its possible they will refund the amount towards debt owed, and anything remaining plus interest should be awarded to you.

Did the letter you receive actually give a rough timescale of when you should hear?
or did they mention the FOS at this stage?

  • Hi all, i have never posted on here before so not sure if this is the right place, am after some advise

Have just been told by the financial ombusdman that my one claim i had tried to do, they cant help with as it was before the company were registered or something, anyway

I took out a loan with my ex partner in 2003, i believe we were mis sold the ppi, it was amde out that because our credit score was not brilliant, that we had to have it as we were risky. Also it was a joint loan but only my ex's name is on the policy.

I am going to try and claim it back. We split up jan 2007 and i have been paying it ever since.

Im not sure what to do, do i try to claim on the basis of my reasons above? Or try to cancel the insurance and get a refund as its in his name, hes not the one paying it?

I dont know what to do for the best, any advice or help would be very very grateful

    Thanks in advance folks :undecided
  • hi can any one help. i took out a loan with welcome the begining of 2007 which i was mis sold ppi on however i didnt know at the time we could claim this back. in the september that loan was paid off and another started. eventually we found we could claim the ppi back and did so on the new loan we did win the claim for this but was told that the claim for ppi on the first loan could also be claimed back. however they then told us that even though the loan was through welcome the ppi was from relax finance and the have gone bust, the people dealing with our claim said that we could still claim but they need to know the insurers for relax finance. please could any advise us on this matter or has anybody had the same problems.

Hi there, i am sorry, but you cannot claim this ppi as it is in your ex name. You will have to speak to him and appeal to his better nature to go with this and if you win, then he could pay you some back.I know this is unhust as you have been paying this but that is how it goes i am afraid. If your ex agrees to claiming this, look here for all the reasons for mis sell, and if he will then claim, then get it in writing that he will give you xx pounds.

Also, as the firm were not covered then you need to go after the insurer. If you have not got the ins document then your ex will have to phone the company and ask who the insurer is, as they may have been regulated and if the insurer says no to mis sell then the fos can help.Oh sorry, are you sure you are not the second insured borrower? as if you are then you can claim 50% of any win and get this paid to you.

Hi there, as the firm has gone bust, you can go the insurer route, dont know if you will be quicker going to fscs, as they deal with ppi when companies have gone bust. Let welcome try the ins first.
Well done on your first win :j:j
