Welcome Finance PPI

Options
Hi All

Just to let you know that Welcome have upheld my complaint to the tune of £2,655.39.

They are saying 30 days to process from 26/11/2010 so taking into account the Xmas Hols, they are saying 1st week of Jan which is a complete bummer! Could have done with the money before Xmas!

Has anyone had their payout recently quicker than this or have they taken the refund process to the 30 days?

Many thanks for your help.

  • Hey lolly0117,

I have, today, received my payout of just over £9,300. I received the letter advising of my payout on 27th October. I sent back the letter by registered post and, don't ask me why, I rang them on 16th November to check that they had received my form. They then said that they had, but it wasn't signed, so they'd have to send out new forms!! Grrrrrrrr!! The only plus point was that they did say that they would allow the 30 days to be effective from when they first received the forms, which was good. Sent them back via Guaranteed Delivery. Rang them again when my 30 days was up - i.e Friday 10th December. There had been an issue, but was looking at today at being paid, and.................yay, I have been paid! Yo ho ho, Merry Christmas everyone! (At least I'll clear some debts and be able to save!!) So, to answer you question, yes, they do stick to the 30 working days, but by golly, PUSH them once the 30 days are up!!!!!

Wow, well done to you! Congratulations!

I would ring them and ask them, if they said they are paying by cheque, ask them if they will be posting before Xmas, due to the xmas posting, good luck.;)

  • Hi All,

Congrats to those who have managed to get money out of these guys.

I have a question. I must be going blind because I cannot see the letter template anywhere to initiate a refund against Welcome Finance. I can see other templates.

My girlfriend got a loan from these sharks and was given ppi without being asked whether she wanted it. She asked for a settlement figure a while back but was shocked when the amount seemed more than the original loan.

If somebody can point me in the direction (using really simple instructions or post a link) to the first template in the series I would be grateful.

    Thanks

    Hi there

No your not going blind lol.:D

The template letter have been replaced with a reclaiming questionnaire, you will find this here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#reclaim
Keep copies of what is sent and received in case you need to refer to it again a some point, they have 8 weeks to give a decision and you pursue the ones who sold the policy, good luck.:)

  • Thanks for the reply. So just to clarify, does this gets sent to Welcome Finance? Would I send it to the address on the FSa website?

    Thanks again.

    Hi, your welcome.

You send this to the ones who set this up, so if it were Welcome you send to them, if there was a broker used you send to them.

However, for the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) you send a complaint to them if this have not been resolved in your favour by a final decision.;)
More on the FOS (procedures here):
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

There is an actual complaints form on the FOS site for the FOS, not to get this one confused with the PPI reclaiming questionnaire as also shown on the FOS website, the ppi questionnaire on the FOS site is the same as this one on here, and was issued by the FOS for the purpose of the reclaiming of the PPI, and replaced the template letter.;)
