Mine has arrived today too , ordered on 13th.

Contained Classics, Moments, Melts & Toffee from original list plus Metropolitans 191g box, Soft Caramels 188g box, pouches of Chocolate Smothered Fudge, Chocolate Jumbles & Chocolate Chip Chockies and 2 x 90g Chocolate Blocks ,plus my free box of Premium Collection so in total I am about £5 up on the original contents but it still bears no resemblance to what I was expecting.

Not complaining though, just glad it arrived in time.

Forgot to say - I really think Thorntons need better parcel tape. The box I got today was sealed with one strip of 1" wide sellotape and was just about open whenI got it. I received another parcel from them a couple of weeks ago (a replacement for one which had previously gone missing) and it had been taped up again by the delivery people with tape which was printed "resealed by....(whoever the company was)", and I know of other people whose parcels have also been resealed. This probably explains why so many parcels have arrived damaged or with items missing.

they seem to use different ones, my 3 have all been eventualy delivered by local couriers in their own cars, obviously working for bigger companies

I've just chased up my Family Favourites hamper ordered on the 12th. Despite getting a despatch email Thornton's have now admitted it cannot reach me before Christmas (in fact they are now not sure if it really was despatched)
They are quibbling over my insistence that they get the courier to return it to them. I'm not being difficult but off on holiday 26th December until 17th Jan so don't want it being left with a neighbour or outside the house (has happened before) and anyway I needed the goods for Christmas. I've been told a refund will take up to 6 weeks (same story with M&S) until the goods are returned and checked for damage:eek: How on earth can I be responsible for damage when it didn't get to me??????


What a shambles this whole thing has been. Makes me wonder if they simply wanted people to place orders to keep their cash flow moving. I don't see how companies like this can stay in business when they can't handle orders like this.

After not recieveing my "free" box of chocs as I didnt "add the item", I phoned to be told that I would have to pay another delivery charge !! :mad:...I refused !, anyway I got a good result as I have just got the free box, even though I was told I would not get it until after the holiday !!....:j
