Why is Scotland being singled out. Is Hadrian's wall made of snow? Is there a magic cut-off point?0

Still awaiting delivery of a birthday present that was ordered on 1st December from M&S.
My daughter has been given £5 voucher because of the delay.0 -
Thing is - this weather has been exceptional, and any delay is bound to screw up Christmas deliveries. The sheer volume and rate of turnout of goods at this time of year is phenomenal.
As for 'other countries coping' - often they don't. We just don't hear about it...
Drivers do not have to spend 20ish hours stuck in a vehicle?
The country does not grind to a halt?
Lets see how the authorities cope with the 'expected bad weather' this week. Can't say they have not been warned this time0 -
I understand why they have done it but parts of Scotland that haven't been affected by the snow are now affected by this!
I stay 16miles from Carlisle, and I know for that any M & S orders come via the Carlisle depot, just gone on to see if I'd get anything delivered but nope! I am off work ill so won't be able to collect in Dumfries or Carlisle store....sods law!0 -
I can only hope people remember which companies drew a line at the border and vote with their feet in future.0

I feel half the probem though is the BBC seem desperate to use their "exclamation mark triangle" and issue a severe weather warning when there is not normally a problem and I think we witnessed a case of "crying wolf" once to often and we didn't pay any attention.
Will be interesting to see what the end of the week brings.0 -
So their whole transport network does not become gridlocked?
