Yes hun, I'm feeling better about it, whilst I'd love to move for lots of reasons, I've given up on the idea in the short term.
Mainly because it makes no financial sense to move at the mo, also I really don't have the need for a larger house mow as DD1 has moved out so house composition has changed.
Plus there isn't anything particulalry that's caught my eye. Hubby has a new job for a different Trust authority so we may look at relocating that way when DD2 has finished school.
Hope you have a nice time with your Mum, at least you're not on your own.
Fancy a glass of vino, may have to nip out and get a bottle, we haven't gone to the pub as it's freezing and we're saving money.
I must have missed the bit about DD1 moving out. Where's she gone to and what's she up to?
Glad you're feeling better about the house. Its hard work to make real changes to a place (particularly if you're not that fond of it) but can make a huge difference. When I did the kitchen here, I blocked up the doorway, made another one at the other end, moved the boiler to the utility room, moved the gas supply to a different outside wall, moved the sink to a different wall (had to break into the drain), had the floor up and the ceiling down. Hated it before... now I love it (although I wish I'd put another radiator in as end near the utility room is very cold unless I'm cooking!). Same with the utility room - knocked down walls, moved plumbing and electrics, insulated, put up plasterboard, put in a new window, floor and ceiling. Admittedly there are still things that need doing to it, but its given me a whole extra room.
I plan to have a real blitz in the spring (hopefully family will help) and get all the odd jobs done so that if I do decide to move the house is ready to sell, and if not, they won't be annoying me while I decide what my next project is - either redo the bathroom or do the next stage of the garden. Bathroom is currently working out at £6k though... I think mainly because of putting a loo in upstairs, but its difficult to tell. Why do workmen never itemise quotes?0 -
Just popping in to thank you all for the birthday wishes - appreciated even more as my cards arrived with the post delivery mid-afternoon.
All white and pretty here as long as you don't have to go out in it.0 -
helloooo
I have been on my staff xmas outing
8 of us made it...
as it was in Sheffield I decided to drive - because the cost of a taxi (cross border) is, apparently, exhorbitant.
Managed to remember some of my list this afternoon but forgot the replacement strip light. Did manage to declutter some bulky items to the charity shop, so I'm pleased about that. What with that and the trip to the tip I'm doing quite well. And I bought The Soap and Glory box for £25.00. No decision on what to do with the contents as yet, but it was such a bargain
Don't need it for xmas but DD has her birthday in January, thought I am thinking of getting her the digital camera she fancies for that.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Evening all
Had a good time at the party and was very good and only drank two small glasses of wine. Stayed to help with all the washing up and clearing away as I know the hostess is still shattered from last week at work. It was lovely and peaceful strolling home in the snow on my own.
Bed in a minute. Need to decide tomorrow what the weather looks like for visiting Santa but I'm not too optimistic. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning All
I'm determined to get some stuff done today. The WM is already on and then there is only possibly 2 more loads to do. I'm going to watch TJ Hooker at 7 while I iron - yes sad I know - so that will hopefully get me near to the end of that. I need to bring the roll of binbags into the LR and fill at least 1 of them and the boxes to the Christmas decs need to go back up the loft. Mantelpiece needs clearing and everywhere needs hoovering.
Going to start by clearing this computer desk - I can only just see the computer screen there's so much stuff on it. Feel like I'm coming down wityh a cold again as well - I've only just got rid of the last one so I'm not impressed - may just be a reaction to having dog hair round the house again - maybe I just need to adjust.
Have a good day all
Hugs

Happy birthday Dippypud and AnWs mum - I hope you both had lovely days.
Small boy announced it was time to get up at 5.40am. Why do I have to nag chase them out of bed at the last minute on school days but when we don't have to get up........
I am doing a Christmas Dinner for 10 today and nothing is prepped yet so probably a good thing. I can't do much till the worst of the stiffness eases off which usually takes a few hours so there is my silver lining.
Still need to hoover the ground floor again, dust the DR (which is no longer a ROD), change the litter tray, scrub the kitchen table, empty and fill the DW and clean the kitchen floor 'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Good morning all,
Happy Birthday to Dippypud and AnWs mum hope you both have a happy, content day!
Not too much listy stuff done yesterday, but did manage to get the huge front room curtains and liners ironed and re-hung. Now I can crack on with making the curtains for the other front room, which should cut down on the draughts considerably.
Did have a very crafty day though. Nearly finished MIL's cushion which looks lovely, knitted some of everlasting jumper and crocheted some of DD2's scarf- the pattern is here I think it's quite pretty. Also made a bauble wreath out of old baubles
Minimal listy stuff again today, but going to concentrate on curtains I think. Feeling a bit spaced out as my annoying auntie is visiting, so I'm taking it easy, otherwise I just end up getting cross and fed up with the world!
Hope everyone is warm and safe,
