Look their website even mentions 'look for the sign' at the top of the Close!

You could report it if you feel it's causing an obstruction, hard to tell from that pic and the Google maps link previously posted didn't work.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Had this discussion before, does anyone know just where the 10 metres starts from. I have been told its from the line of the crossing road, and from the beginning of the apex of the kerb?
  • There won't be a position as such, 'Do not stop or park opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space' is Do Not advice in rule 243 in the Highway Code.
The offence in the OP's case (and similar cases) is obstruction, the proximity of a junction may be consided to be the reason for the obstruction, but it is not in itself an offence.
  • Not really relevant to the OP's case but where I live, in some housing streets there are double yellow lines on some corners and they don't go 10 metres into the streets. So people park up to the double yellows so therefore nearer than 10 metres to the corner.

At the beginning of my Close a company (which live at the end of the Close), park their van, with one of the A-framed advertising boards attached, right on the junction.

I have live here 3 and half years now and it has been here since I moved. When turning left into my street it does block your sight for a second. I have thought about reporting, since seeing this thread, but am not sure.

Not sure if this will work: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?client=firefox-a&hl=en&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Plymouth+PL7+2ES,+United+Kingdom&ll=50.387042,-4.035121&spn=0.000389,0.001321&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=50.387111,-4.035283&panoid=Bj0CaSnnq30v2jfa69cXIg&cbp=12,172.62,,0,9.74

If it does, it's the same A-frame, however, the wee van, is now a big transit like van.

Zoom in on Hillcrest Close and Hillcrest Drive junction and you will see just how close it is.

I know what you mean Fergie,we have the same problem. At the bottom oof my road is the main road. The are double yellows on both sides of the junction & the junction is a tight turn, not a sweeping bend like in your photo.
The part of the road to the right curves to the right on an uphill bend, often people park on the double yellows which obstructs the view to the right of anyone leaving my road so they have to pull right out into the main road to see round any parked vehicles.
I've almost been hit a couple of times pulling out because of these eejits!
