Strangely, I had never thought about this before, however I do think your own childhood influences your decisions with regards to things like this, I have extremely fond memories of coming downstairs christmas morning unwrapping a pressie while my eyes were scanning the pressie pile to see if I could guess what was hidden under the wrapper of something else desperate to find out what was in them all.
So for me it would have to be wrapped every time to eek out the excitement and anticipation, and this is what we have done with our son for the last 8 years.

It's what I grew up with and I actually preferred it because you could get to see what you had got all at once without spebding half an hour unwrapping everything. My wife always had her presents wrapped and thinks it strange that I don't like them being wrapped. She has won the argument and all our kids presents from santa are now wrapped. I'm just curious what everyone else thinks!!!
Snap. so did we. Though I always wrap now, grudgingly admittedly. Always make them put the wrapping in the bin bag nearby before they undo the next present as it would get me down having wrapping paper everywhere.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
I wrap all of ours unless it is something big like bike, scooter, dolls house in which case I put ribbons on them.
As pp said, the presents from Father Christmas are wrapped in different paper than the ones from us. I think wrapping them adds to the excitement and lengthens the fun!0 -
Our were always unwrapped and this is what I do with my daughter.
Everything was spread out on the sofa and any big things built up and ready to play with.
As we got older, the presents started to be wrapped; that was because the pile got smaller though the value didn't.0 -
I hate wrapping pressies, most boring job in the world. Especially since my now 8 year old asked how come father Xmas had exactly the same wrapping paper as ours!!!???? So now they get put into a big brown sack unwrapped. Left by the front door with santas key left on the mat. We dont have a chimney so he has to be able to get in somehow.0

All presents are wrapped and all are from Santa, i would have hated seeing everything all at once, its not as exciting as everything in nice paper, and it stops christmas morning being over in 15 seconds!!0

definatly all wrapped, all is from santa, i love the way my kids tear a little paper to have a peek then they rip it off once they know what it is, as a child i would hated anything unwrapped, takes away the excitement.0

i agree all wrapped here to. adds to excitement and surpise and makes christmas morning last longer. to make present opening longer we hide them around the house and the kids have to find them my daugther loves it my son is only 2 so this will be first year we hide them for him.0

ours are always wrapped from santa. and santa uses the same design wrapping paper for each child and each pressie has a specail name tag on it.
This yr santa is using red paper which says property of santa on it. and we also have some plain red wrapping paper.0 -
I'm coming to the conclusion that: either we were the only kids in the world who were so excited by the whole magical thing so as not to want to bother with wrapping paper, or we got far too much. Christmas always lasts all day - from the 3am rises (in the younger days my sis :rotfl:) to the 6am bedtime on boxing day.0
