Going back to the original topic, in hindsight I should have wrapped the presents from Father Christmas in different paper, but I didn't even think to do that - doh!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Any relatives/friends presents are given to the kids seperately, so they know who they are from, our network of friends/relatives never do thank you letters after the present has been opened, we always say thank you when we get them, but i'm over 40 and never sent/received a thankyou letter in my life!!, and im not going to start now. i don't understand parents saying they don't want to give santa all the credit? kids find out soon enough that the parents get the presents, its not a competition between parents and santa, i think it just confuses the kids,' these presents are from me, and these are from santa' kind of thing.0

Yes I can see what you are saying.
From all the replies above though, everyone has their own way of doing things and not one way is right. It is just what is right with your own particular family I guess.
Can't change anything now though, my daughter is 23 now and I have just asked her about it and it didn't confuse her!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

my kids are told we send money to santa and he brings the goods that way everyone gets a thanks, other relatives are normally given to them personally tho my kids are well trained and read every label0

I agree...why waste time wrapping the gift then after ruined the wrappers...waste of time and money....:j0

I gave my daughter a pillow case on the end of the bed that had small presents in, some were from Father Christmas and some were from me. The ones from Father Christmas were unwrapped to differentiate from the ones from me (I didn't want him to get ALL the credit). These were just things like a painting book, chocolate, small games and toiletries etc (can't actually remember what was in there now!)
Then all the other main presents from me and every one else were wrapped.
I sent them to Father Christmas and then he brought them to the house on Christmas Eve. That way she was able to thank the actual person who has spent time and money on buying stuff for her.
So that is my question to those who wrap everything and say it is from Father Christmas - does that mean they don't say thank you to the people who actually bought them?
But personally i dont think it should matter that they say thanks to santa and not you because its magic why would you want to take the magic away because your worried santa gets the credit. When they are old enought to know then they will know that you put all that effort in over all the years and be greatfull to you for thatSealed pot challenge 18750 -
Because for me, money was extremely tight and I wanted her to know that I had bought her some presents. If I said they were all from Father Christmas, she might have thought I hadn't bought her anything!!
Also I did say it wasn't me that I wanted her to say thank you but to other family members and friends who had gone to the effort of buying her something.
My daughter lost none of the magic of christmas at all. She is sat here confirming this to me.
I am sorry that my way of doing things doesn't agree with you but the original question from the OP was how did we all do it, so of course there are going to be lots of different answers.
As I said before, whatever works for your family is the right way for you.OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

in our house santa brings his presents and we have ours, wrapped in two different types of paper. All the presents get wrapped up on xmas even and me and hubby are usually wrapping til Midnight! My little ones love opening the presents and we love watching them. My eldest (8) does thank you letters and I am obsessed with writting down who has bought what, something following on from my younger days! My youngest (3) is really excited this year about Santa as he is bringing him a Buzz Lightyear, it's all he wants! He was upset today though when we told him he was having a party at school on Friday and Santa was going to be there as he said it was too early for him to bring him his Buzz Lighyear (or Lightear as he pronounces it).
My presents have been bought since 1st November, I just can never be bothered to wrap them until xmas eve!Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!0 -
Oh no, presents have to be wrapped. I don't know how I'd cope if any I might receive were unwrapped, never mind the littluns!0
