With the exceptions of - if they got something REALLY big, like a bike or a kitchen, then it would be unwrapped
My brother and I also had Santa pillow-cases in our rooms and the things inside were wrapped.
One year we got bikes and dad sneaked them into our bedrooms at gone midnight, after he and mum had done all the Christmas prep. My little brother (8 at the time) woke up about 3am and found this bike. It was one of those mid-80s ones with an electronic siren thing on the handlebars. 6 different buttons to make different noises. Woke mum and dad up again with it, got sent back to bed, but was then up every hour playing with it until morning. They were wrecked that year. :rotfl:0 -
What's the point if they're not wrapped?
If I spend weeks/months buying stuff it's a waste of time if it's all laid out, they look over it and it's done. If they have to unwrap things it makes them concentrate on each item and makes the surprises last longer.
Never heard of anyone else not having wrapped parcels from Santa (except big stuff) to me, it just seems like the parents couldn't be bothered with the hassleCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Just looks like another present from under the tree then.
I love wrapping. It'd be the most perfect job for me in the worldBut not from Santa

I have to agree you may aswell keep the pressies in the carrier straight from the shop and hand it to them, just out of curiosity those that don't wrap do you present gifts to other people unwrapped on birthdays / christmas ?0 -

I gave my daughter a pillow case on the end of the bed that had small presents in, some were from Father Christmas and some were from me. The ones from Father Christmas were unwrapped to differentiate from the ones from me (I didn't want him to get ALL the credit). These were just things like a painting book, chocolate, small games and toiletries etc (can't actually remember what was in there now!)
Then all the other main presents from me and every one else were wrapped.
I sent them to Father Christmas and then he brought them to the house on Christmas Eve. That way she was able to thank the actual person who has spent time and money on buying stuff for her.
So that is my question to those who wrap everything and say it is from Father Christmas - does that mean they don't say thank you to the people who actually bought them?OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

Most of the time parcels from family are handed directly to the chidren from the giver.
From more distant relatives, their parcels are kept under the tree and are opened after dinner, so they know who they are from and can write a note accordingly. Totally seperate from all the santa stuffCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. All the presents in there stocking are from Santa and wrapped in different paper, All the presents under the tree are wrapped with labels on as to who they are from as I am santa in my house when they are thanking santa they are thanking me, They get presents from family members which are given to them personnally they keep all there gift tags so they know who to thank for what(even the ones from santa), to me christmas is not just about getting thanks from the kids its seeing there faces light up and the excitment on there faces that is thanks enough to me,it is the one time of year I love and wouldnt misss for the world. I wouldn't not wrap there present to me it just takes the excitment out of it but each to there own.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -

Oh I totally agree with you. I didn't mean I wanted thanks for the presents, but I do think other people should be thanked as thought, time and money is put into buying presents specifically for that child.
I was round my friends one year, and her children just dived in and started opening presents (and this wasn't even Christmas Day) and by the time they had finished, the wrapping paper and labels were all over the place, so she didn't know who had bought what!
I thought that was so wrong!!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j
