Presents from Fr Christmas...do you wrap them or not??? Views please

When we were kids we would get a pillow case full of presents and none of them would be wrapped. It's what I grew up with and I actually preferred it because you could get to see what you had got all at once without spebding half an hour unwrapping everything. My wife always had her presents wrapped and thinks it strange that I don't like them being wrapped. She has won the argument and all our kids presents from santa are now wrapped. I'm just curious what everyone else thinks!!!

  • Ours were mixed. Off Father Christmas, some were wrapped-but not tidily! And others were unwrapped in a big bag. Anything big was usually unwrapped. These were put on sofas/armchairs and then there'd be a couple of presents wrapped under the tree from my parents.
everyone's got different ways haven't they-our stockings on our bed were actual tights.

We always wrap everything kids more excited trying to guess what is in them.
  • I didnt have an actual present or stocking from santa as a child, all our presents were wrapped under the tree. My children have always had a stocking from santa and I have always wrapped the presents, as in my opinion it is more fun for the kids and gives them more to un wrap.

    Wrapped, definitely!

With the exceptions of - if they got something REALLY big, like a bike or a kitchen, then it would be unwrapped, and some small items in the stocking would be unwrapped, although the more expensive things are wrapped.

So much more exciting, and it makes the joy of watching their faces last longer.

Father Christmases gifts were always wrapped for our boys - and of course he used different special wrapping paper to what we used for our packing - otherwise the kids would have wondered??!!

Son's favourite toy was always his cuddly Roland Rat - so of course Santa left him something too - sugar mice or a rubber rat!

  • Santa's presents were always laid out on the sofa unwrapped and presents from everyone else were wrapped. It was awesome coming into the living room and seeing everything santa had brought. My sister does the same thing now for my nephews.

Santas stocking is half wrapped, half not, and all presents under the tree are wrapped in santas special paper. I wrap everything! and i do mean everything . . last year DD's kitchen was wrapped in 2 rolls of tescos cheapest 15p wrapping paper and this year I will be trying valiantly to do the same with their bikes!! It makes the whole present bit last longer and its more exciting not knowing whats inside

  • Santa's presents are always wrapped in our house, though big things like bikes or toy kitchens would be assembled & have a Xmas tablecloth draped over them.

I think it more exciting and also slows the kids down on Christmas morning a bit. Santa must remember not to use the same paper as Mum though...;)

  • They are always wrapped here :)

Presents from santa are wrapped in brown parcel paper with some soot smudged on in places.... santa always uses a special gift tag too which [STRIKE]I[/STRIKE] santa needs to start making soon!

I'm not keen on lots of stocking or sacks, although I had sacks with wrapped pressies in, I prefer to see everything laid out nicely :)
