you can't gamble what you don't have...

Thought the one above was your last post?

OK I give in...usually if you ignore someone long enough they stop trying to get your attention and go back to behaving (well it works with my kids) but seeing as it appears you are serious....have a reread of what you wrote and try and spot the mistake that contradicts what you were getting at earlier. This is my last post in this thread so relpy all you'll like, it will fall on deaf ears as much as a fart in the wind....

    What I said still stands......

You cant afford your debt, as your left with £40 to pay other things like mortgage, electric, phone, shopping, travel YOUR WORDS.

You do need a £15k, as a 15k loan would clear everything and give me a bit of spare change.. YOUR WORDS

You havent heated your home because your partner and kids wrap up in blankets and covers as they can find and going to bed after supper because its too cold to sit up and watch TV YOUR WORDS

Denial is what you are suffering from
Gambling addiction is what you have
Deflection of blame is what you are doing
Complete idiot is what you are

    Enough said.

So he's going to try and write off as much of the debt as possible....shock.

From what I've read, taking the bankruptcy route doesn't always mean that all the debt gets written off - it normally involves having a court order to pay a set amount over a period following the bankruptcy. This then gets divided up with the creditors.

Also, I've read that if the reason for entering bankruptcy is due to gambling, the courts can impose an order preventing the person from getting credit for an extended period after the bankruptcy "vanishes" from their credit records.

Also, you've already posted elsewhere about how you'd like to be able to have a loan so that you could call your creditors up and offer them a reduced settlement figure - so don't get all high and mighty about debt avoidance when you're eager to do the same!
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you? ;)

If thats the case then why do you need an extra £5k to sort your mess out instead of £5k less.

Do you think before you type?

If you can afford to spend £10 here & there on gambling, could you not perhaps stop that for a little while and pay for heating for your partner & kids? Or do they not matter enough for you to care they are freezing?

Yes that was my words, but your words were that I was explicitly in 15k of debt, which is simply just not the case, it might seem like I am being pedantic, but have you ever heard of the story of the brown M&M's? This is why I know you haven't fully read or understood anything in that thread...

The clue was in the fact i posted in the LOANS board, I was looking for a loan, not debt advice...but borrowing additional money on top of my existing debt is insane (and sadly, what I had to resort to...) Rolling it all up into one makes far more sense to anyone with half a brain, it costs less per month, it costs less in the long run...need me to draw a diagram?

All my £10 here and there have not equalled anything like £600....for the simple fact that, every so often I will withdraw more than £10...it almost pays for itself (THIS IS WHY I SIMPLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW YOU CAN LOSE TENS OF THOUSANDS!!!!)....but there is negative expectation so you can not break even in the long run gambling...

Anyway, if I had the loan to afford me the ability to get home every day after work I wouldn't need to fritter away £10 here and there, I would far enjoy spending time playing with my kids...

I have lost my gambling addiction and have become addicted to posting absolute drivel on internet boards. I can see how you got so hooked!
