if you was playing on-line black jack or Roulette you could go through 10k in no time, the next spin or hand comes around so fast it cant be
compared to normal Casinos where your bets would be spread out more, its lethal.

I played some blackjack and roulette online this morning. I logged into my paddy power account and had 50p in the account. I cashed out £20 and left £5 in the account. The speed at which the hands and spins can come around was the reason I was able to make so much. Most sites have a maximum deposit limit each month anyway (in addition to any personal limits you have set, eg. most sites I play at are limited to £10 per week) It just doesn't add up...this person is full of bs...
  • Ciscokid, a person with a gambling problem is not a person full of BS, as you say.
A person with gambling issues, will put a limit on their account SEVERAL times and then revoke it.
A person with gambling issues, will sign up for every single site. Play, lose and then play again in the holes if making up the amounts lost.. and then it turns into an endless loop.
I work in the industry and Ive seen people all but sell their kids to feed their adiction.

James, I really hope you can turn your life around. You will need a lot of help and determination. Maybe, making an effor to pay the debt will help with overcoming your gambling problems as you will then value your money more. You really need to talk to someone, one of the many charities. It has to come from you tho, you MUST want this. I really with you loads of luck on this journey. xxx

ciscokid - can you please leave other people threads alone? You're not contributing, just attempting to derail (through abuse) a thread from someone who is looking for help.

Jamese - I can only advise that you seek help firstly for your gambling addiction and then, from a debt help charity such as the CCCS, Payplan or CAB. I would not recommend that you cease communications with your creditors. Also, it may be worthwhile posting your SOA on the Debt Free Wannabe board. Have a read of this thread which will help you get started: clicky-clicky

    Good luck!
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you? ;)

Well, my ex blew 6k in half a day, so I imagine that the speed at which the OP has lost money is more than possible.

And there are plenty of people on here who admit to losing that much gambling. There's a whole support thread for them.

Cisco, why do you keep posting on other people's threads saying that they must be lying, or that the advice they're getting (based on thousands of people's experiences) must be bad because it's not what you'd suggest? You're really starting to disrupt the board, and even worse than that you're jumping in and harrassing new posters who may be put off the whole site because of you. People on DFW are vulnerable, and your attitude is making things a whole lot worse.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I was a new posted and everyone jumped in and harrassed me about my terrible gambling addiction and my refusal to pay my debts, none of which are true.

This guy racks up an absolute disgusting fortune and I know full well he'll never pay anything like a fraction of it back, and this board will help in that conquest. I guess I pulled the short straw when I signed up here.

I physically don't understand how you can blow 6k gambling....a loss of £200 and I would be beyond devastated....i would be physically sick. but hey, I got blasted for having an out of control gambling problem.

So i am geniunely trying to goad OP into telling me just how this happened, I might be able to tell him 1 or 2 things that could stop him gambling like that again. But again, just ridicule me, censor me, delete me...whatever....

I make up things like these...28invpy.jpg

It's an addiction. As with any addiction, you start out with small amounts and then it escalates and escalates until you are out of control. Most adults understand how addiction works, I'm not sure why you are having so much difficulty grasping this concept.

Would you post on an thread started by someone with an alcohol addiction, calling them a troll because they drink 20 cans a day and you can only manage 5 before feeling sick?

So, say one site has a limit of 1k. How many sites are out there? Dozens at least.

My ex could blow that much because he was an addict. I don't understand how people can smoke, or buy designer handbags,, or watch x-factor, that doesn't mean that it's not possible!

But this thread isn't about you. You can gamble when you want and stop when you want, or so you say, so good for you. But this thread is about the OP and his problems.

Whether he pays it all off or goes bankrupt and pays nothing or somewhere in between is none of your business, he'll do what's best for him.

betting Sites dont limit to 1k a day, its for punters/customers to set limits themselves, compulsive gamblers dont set daily limits because they'll
be looking to bet as much as they possibily can, your example is just your account cisco, which is from "poker stars" if im not mistaken

take poker sites as an example, how do people on certain levels play with $75k in front of them?
