not a grabbit but next vip sale!!

hi i know it isn''t a particular grabbit but i have just ordered something from the next website and at the page i got to with the confirmation with my email address it there was a box which said to click if you wanted to register for the vip next sale, so i clicked it and it had my account number on it and that was it really, not seen it before but thought i should let you know :j

Thank you! Just ordered something and I saw the box on there. For anyone about to try this, look on the right hand side on your confirmation page, quite bright and colourful big advert box. This is what it said when I clicked on it:

Just put through an order and came up on mine asking to confirm my interest in VIP sale and that you wanted a directory. Sorry too late for me so cant quite remember wording.Interesting......

Mine said that you must have ordered from the Autumn/Winter directory.

Thanks, i was going to order something this afternoon but got distracted by the kids so i've just placed my order and the 'Do you want to be invited' banner was there, so i confirmed my interest. I guess it's random again but at least i've shown my interest now and we will just have to wait and see!

What annoys me about Next is this :

So, in effect, you are more or less paying for the privilege of being selected for the VIP sale.

I shop loads at Next and have plenty of credit, however, I refuse to have a directory due to (a) the price, and (b) the sheer SIZE of it - it's MASSIVE!

Sadly there will be no VIP invite for me if this is a requirement

In my opinion the Next VIP Sale is probably the best sale and the £3.75 charge for the Directory is well worth it for an invitation. All there Sale items go half price or less unlike Debenhams and others and i always manage to kit both of my boys out for the next 12 months inc School Coats, Shoes etc

How can forking out BEFORE actually buying anything be money saving?!? It's ludicrous! And there's no guarantee you will get an invitation to the VIP sale anyway, it seems to be pot luck.

As for Debenhams, I've managed to kit out my son for next year with everything at 70% off or more, and I didn't have to pay them for the privilege!

Where on the account page please as I cannot see anything and I have ordered this year, only the other day!
