oh minnie....have you seen my car aswell? well i never!!!
Are you for real?
Cars come in a variety of Specifications. So for example the Megane can come in Expression, Dynamique, Authentique, Rush and Sport to name a few. All those cars are exactly the same underneath - same gearbox, same suspension, same engine, etc - the only thing that differs is the cosmetic elements - paint, alloys, seats, climate control etc, etc. A 1.6vvt Dynamique handles and drives exactly as the same as a 1.6vvt Sport, as they are the same car. The sport is no sportier, it just looks sportier. This is something all manufacturer do as a marketing tool.
A Megane Renaultsport is a Megane that has been tuned by the specialist department within Renault to make it into a hot hatch - large turbocharged engine, completely different suspension and geometery, different gearbox and lots of other little tweeks that make it into a completely different car. Again this is something that all manufacturers do - BMW have the M Division and Alpina, Mercedes have AMG whilst Ford and Audi badge there's RS.
Nobody was trying to offend you, they just got confused as to what you had, as a Megane Sport is a totally different car to a Megane Renaultsport.
My previous car was a BMW MSport, I was under no illusions that it was an M3, it just looked nicer than the SE.0 -

You miss your Z too? We had a black one up until september, absolutely loved it but had to go in the end as it sat on the drive for 6 days out of 7 and was costing silly money just to have sitting there

My worst car was a Renault Savannah. We only kept it about 6 months - the shortest time we've ever kept a car. Hated it with a passion - it was terrible! We spent about £400 on brakes in that time and they were still like chewing gum! I'd never buy another Renault again.0 -

I've had a few fast cars in my time TVR Chimaera, Audi TT, BMW 330d but my favorite car is my current 12 yr old MX5. Before I'd actually driven one I had the same preconceptions as everyone else - bit of a girly haidressers car. In reality it's the perfect combination of handling, power, price and character. It cost 90% less than my old BMW but is more fun to drive and has actually proved more reliable. It's fantastic to drive on the road and gives me a grin evertime I go out in it. It's also used as a track toy so has a few modifications, but nothing to massively increase power and it will still embarrass the odd Imprezza or Boxter round Oulton Park.
Next on the list of modifications is installing a supercharger, intercooler, new injectors and some fuel management, which should take the power north of 210bhp for a car that weighs less than a ton. Should make the trackdays a bit more fun.
