Whilst not wanting to get into a debate on this thread regarding the slanting match, what's so special about self medicating Morphine? I have for two years been doing it, both the 12 hour slow release and the oral version, now going for a third via a little pump. For anyone been on it for a while you end up used to it sadly and I personally have few "hits" or side effects.
I think it's time the mods locked this thread now as it has got so out of hand and away from the OP0 -

Nope, I am still dreaming about men in kilts....with nothing underneath! :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

You should talk to the doctor before taking tramadol and morphine together.
I strongly second this.
I have taken both tramadol and oramorph, but since the strength of tramadol was increased have been advised not to take the oramorph any longer. I also take a mix of other drugs so wouldn't want to mess with them, although it can be tempting.
I would hate to think, based on some comments you've read, that you suggest to your husband it may be ok to mix the two, when it actually may not be ok.
Sorry to hear your husband was in a lot of pain. I know how that feelsso sympathise with him. Could he go back to GP and ask for a medication review?

i was on morphine and tramadol, i had to stop because any paterned wall paper would blur and move about and i would get dizzy and sick.
so doc put me on morphine and stronger fentnyl, there is no way i will go back on tramadol my body just dont like it!0 -
A referral to pain management clinic might help if your OH is struggling to manage his pain.
Sh, I emailed my MP but he's about as useful as a chocolate tea pot.
And as for kilties oh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.0 -

Im on the same patches as you, tramadol and oramorph but they are sanctioned by my pain specialist, you will find that you need higher doses when you have been on them for many years.
We have all recomended davsidipp's husband talk to his GP/pain management doctor but we were also trying to help her, when your partner/husband/wife/parent is in pain its not nice for the rest of the family, I know Ive been their as both the one in pain and the one with the husband in pain.
I have talked to our MP about the changes sh, he makes all the supportive noises but Im not so sure of his mettle underneath.0 -
