Thanks , I have seen that folksy site before and wondered do people really buy from there ?
Does anyone else make money on there ?

I used to sell my jewellery on there last year and I think you can make money there. It helps to get involved in the community side of the site to promote yourself, so it can be time consuming.

Well, i had a good day today! A couple of ebay listings finished, giving me £51.27 after deducting fees. I then sat and listed some maternity clothes and my little boys newborn stuff, but i've got a ton more to go on. I'll just add them to my turbo lister throughout the week and then upload next Sunday.

I have another idea for savings too. It's small change, but every little helps right?! I use real (cloth) nappies about 85% of the time with sposies for night and for when we go out sometimes. Obviously using the cloth that i already bought and paid for when i had DD means i don't have to buy sposies every week. Soooo... For each cloth nappy wash i do i will transfer £1.20 into my savings. I figure that sposies can be about 15p per nappy and each nappy wash does about 10-12 nappies. This is the equivalent to about £1.50 and then i take 30p off for washing liquid and power etc. At the very least it will motivate me to use the cloth more over the sposies and i'll have a little excitement at washing them. Take it where you can eh!!

    I've got a question...
If you had money in your savings account(s) already from what you saved last year would you count that towards your target for this year? Or would you draw a line under that and start from a zero balance? I'm counting all money that i transfer into our savings accounts as going towards my £11K, so would i count what's already there?

, maybe the person you overheard was talking about tax credits when they mentioned the 16 hours? I don't know much about them because we don't qualify for much (and it's extraordinarily confusing!) but i do know that 16 hours is one of their "thresholds".

nikki, you made me chuckle about "stopping smoking". I stopped a few years back now and i've been kind of wishing i could stop again this year to save the money up! :rotfl:
    Sarah. :p
DD is 8 years old DS1 is 6 years old

Its really upto you if you want to include any previous savings. Although this is a challenge you can make your own rules :o.

The 16 hours threshold is soon to rise to 24 btw, just a warning for anyone who is claiming WTC.

My OH thinks I'm nuts for doing it but he won't be complaining when the savings reach a gigantic amount (ok, ok its not going to make me a millionaire but I can dream)

Edit: I've just applied to Butler Hill. Fingers crossed.

I actually remember working 75 hours per week between two jobs when I was 19. Excellent money but I almost killed myself!

Yep I was the same at 18. Three jobs (morning cleaning, daytime shop, evening bar) plus party plan/catalogue job in my spare time to get the money together for university.Things were going really great for almost the whole year - until I got 'flu and it literally floored me, I was bedridden for two weeks! When I'd recovered I found boyfriend had resigned me from the two part-time jobs and both jobs were too scared of him to argue! Ten years on and he still vetoes any suggestion of a second job!

I have spent most of the day doing a bit of research and formulating a PLAN. I will have to focus on earning rather than saving as we already use every frugal trick in the book.

Yes, and no. What kind of wholesaler and where are they based? There's a big difference between a UK-based warehouse and a Chinese wholesaler, and all the gaps in between. A lot will depend on the product.

Anyone about that knows about using the spreadsheet? How do i change the list that is the different accounts? Checking, Bobs card, Janes card and savings?

Can only be seen in the transactions history accounts coloum....

Anyway good news im off to a flying start...£234.84 in account and £221.63 going in on Wednesday! So £456.47 so far!!

Hi rictus123, not sure if you're still wondering but if you go into the help tab you'll see a list of the accounts in there, starting in cell C53. Just replace the names already in that list with what you want and the account names will automatically change in the transactions tab.
