Just emptied my coin jar and there was £122.82 so I'm off and running!

I emptied my coin jar today too - £91!!!! I am going to save my pennies again this year. Sewing machine and Wii listed on ebay. The Wii has 4 watchers no bids yet.

Just need to sort out my Music magpie again - and then work on product design.

I'm assuming you already have a main job?

Your 2nd part time job will automatically be taxed at 20% unless you haven't already reached your personal allowance. So not sure where this 16 hour limit is coming in? You will be taxed 20% if its an extra £50 or £500. Obviously if you hit the higher earnings level you will then be taxed at 40% on anything above that.

I have listed 7 things on ebay today so will see how that goes.

I am only going to count the money when it is in my account or if I have used it to pay off some of my cc debt, so I have £27 so far left over from last year!

I have around £200 pending in various affiliate accounts like amazon and adsense so when that is paid I will include that.

Now need to work out a way to earn the other £10,973, will start looking for a part time job this week but there has been nothing in the last 3-4 months so not holding out much hope for that!

I would like to earn most of the money online and have a couple of ideas, one for a site that is all about wordpress and blogging, I have a set of videos that I bought that I could upload and the rights to sell some plugins etc so will probably go down that road as I have made some money from blogs in the past.
    Sell £1000 in 2016 - £12.48/£1000
    Earn £2016 in 2016 - £0.00/£1000

I've just found this thread and it would be great to take part. I've just moved my household insurance which has saved me £100 (why did I always just renew before?!) and plan to do more surveys, make sure I use cashback sites, make packed lunch to take to work and avoid going into the red if possible - I just had a look at the penalty interest I incurred in 2010!

Thanks for all of the inspiring ideas so far.

It could be that its 16 hours keeps them below their personal allowance however at 18 hours the tax would kick in? Obviously I'm just speculating but I work for the dreaded tax man and I really can't recall anything about working more than 16 hours in a 2nd.

I actually remember working 75 hours per week between two jobs when I was 19. Excellent money but I almost killed myself!

Well i do 47.5 mon - fri...itl be that amount until about March when i can start doing some Saturdays and il manage to sell my second car and get £800 or so from that! Well done on last years amount Nikki, more than £100 a week is impressive! What was your main earner?

If i dont find something soon it wont be worth it so il just have to hold fire then go flat out when i can! Making some good efforts to do this challenge!

My main earner was £2000 of shares that matured. They were meant to be for my 21st birthday from my mum and dad however they had fallen in value so I kept them invested for an extra year. Got them last year.

I also have a very little beauty business so thats good in the Summer and on the run up to Christmas.

Survey sites are good too. They can be a little soul destroying but the vouchers etc are really good for putting towards Christmas presents.

I'm looking to switch my bar job for some supermarket work or something. At least the discount card would be a bonus plus my local Tesco is 24 hours (I have a little boy so im limited to what hours I can do)

This year I am aiming high. My NY resolution was to stop smoking. I don't actually smoke but I was going to put the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes in my sealed pot every couple of days :rotfl:.

Oh, I also have a student ID which means I get a discount in some shops. Every time I do this I am going to put the difference in my sealed pot too.

I don't know if I'll manage a high total but the support and laughs last year were excellent.

Rictus123 - by the sounds of it you certainly meet your total this year. Hopefully it all goes to plan!

Yep theres only one thing i have to do to meet my goals!!!

    Stick to my plan!!!

I really think i will...itl be a slow couple of months until the weathers better and there is more work but once there is itl be all systems go and nothing stopping me!! If im half way by July il be happy enough! Maybe look at getting an xmas job come October, something fine and easy inside! I get 3 weeks off in summer and im already planning on working at least 1 of them....2 weeks off in winter im sure a little part time job would be magic for extra pennies then aswel!

See how my first goal goes! £1,000 by 14/2/11! Good luck Nikki x
